Im so upset, a couple of months ago I applied for the credit card and the cashier signed me up for the store card, imagine my surprised when I tried to use it at another store. 🤭

Maybe 8-10 years ago it used to be a Visa card … but now it’s just like any other store card- you can only use it at that specific store or connected stores (eg VS, express, jcp, Dillard’s, etc- all these store cards can only be used at that store or affiliate stores)…. which makes sense … I assume they broke ties with visa so they could bring in more 💰 (they no longer have to pay them the 3% fee that’s standard to charge for credit transactions)

The Visa is a credit card for Target. The store card is a debit card that onlinees out of your bank account, also only for Target. Hopefully, that helps. Have a blessed day.

Target has credit or debit (checking acct withdraw) and Visa version with the Target logo on it for higher scored patrons.

Long standing members also get the option to upgrade to the Visa/Mastercard option too

If “VS” in your above post is Victoria’s Secret you CAN use their card at Bath & Bodyworks. When checking out you just tell them you are using in- house credit. Wish I had never found out that little secret! I enjoy a good candle much better than dental floss undies!

There was a promo a couple months ago to use the red card and get 10% off on hotels dot online. I have always been under the impression you can use it elsewhere, it has the MasterCard logo.

Target no longer offers the Target m/c but for those that still have it can use it anywhere MasterCard is accepted. Target now only offer Target credit card and debit card which can only be used at Target.

Target offers a Target Visa. I had a Target credit card and 6 weeks ago I got a letter in the mail that my Target credit card was changing to a Target Visa. I got my Target Visa and use it everywhere not just Target.

My mistake. Target DOES offer the Mastercard still. I had a regular Target credit card and was upgraded to a Target Mastercard that can be used ANYWHERE.

I have a Target red card that is a Mastercard and I use at other places with no trouble. Weird!

I went to Target today and after I applied all my cartwheels it all went wrong. The cashier scanned my cartwheel on my phone and it checked me out from there. So you have to show them the 5% red card first then your cartwheel offers. Guest services was able to give me cash back but it was a hassle. I guess I can use my coupon again though as they never scanned it lol
