JCPenney Partners with ThredUP | Shop Secondhand Women’s Clothing & Handbags in JCP Stores
JCPenney just announced that 30 of its stores will soon be offering a selection of secondhand women’s clothing and handbags from ThredUP, the world’s largest online consignment store.
Shoppers can expect to find current styles from leading designers and brands at “onlinepelling” prices. Each ThredUP shop will be carefully curated and refreshed weekly to offer an exciting experience for JCPenney shoppers.
Here’s what Michelle Wlazlo, executive vice president and chief merchant for JCPenney, had to say:
With the rise of online resale markets, there’s no doubt that demand for great value on quality brands is at an all-time high. We’re excited about the prospect of creating a new in-store experience that makes high-end brands attainable, as well as catering to eco-minded consumers who want more sustainable options in their wardrobe.
Offering a seasonal assortment of like-new handbags and women’s fashion, the ThredUP collections will be presented in 500-to-1,000 sq. ft. sections of select stores. JCPenney hopes that by shopping ThredUP in a brick-and-mortar store, shoppers will enjoy the opportunity to see, feel and try on items.
Better yet, ThredUP purchases will be eligible to earn JCPenney Rewards.
