To use the Relay device, kids simply press one button to talk, kind of like a walkie-talkie, and then parents/caretakers/older siblings can reply using the free Relay app on their smartphone. Parents can also set up Geofences which alert you when your child leaves a certain area!
Relay has the range of a cell phone so you can make calls from all the way across the country. It uses both 4G LTE and WiFi – connect your Relays to WiFi through the app on your smartphone and after that, they’ll automatically connect when in range, switching from 4G LTE to WiFi as needed.
Note that Relay is only available in the U.S. at this time (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) and does require a $9.99 per month service charge (independent from your normal cell phone service bill); however there is no contract required so you can cancel at any time!
