This is a great gift idea for artistic teenagers. I got a similar one for my teenage son who is very creative two Christmases ago and he loved it. He’s used it several times. It’s not something he would have thought to ask for but he’s gotten a lot of enjoyment from it.

I agree! Great gift idea for sure! Good to know how much he liked it, Jennifer! Thanks for sharing with us!

  2. Cindy

I ordered it for my daughter’s 13th birthday party. T-shirt favors!

Great idea and that should be a lot of fun, Cindy!

My kids did tie dye a couple weeks ago and even after letting it sit overnight most of the colors washed out. Any tips? I don’t remember the brand but maybe it just wasn’t good

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

You can usually set the color with vinegar, Amanda! After you tie-dye (before washing) fill a bucket with cold water and vinegar (1/2 of each). Soak for 30 min and then wash. On the wash cycle use cold water and add 1/2 cup table salt to the wash cycle and 3 cup vinegar to the rinse cycle to set it in more.

I’m 44 and just bought this for myself! I was about to toss a white flowy camisole this morning because it has a small oil stain but I put it aside just in case and now I will just dye it! Also headed to Mexico with 7k other hippies for some concerts in January, so tie-dye is practically a required uniform!

Have fun with your friends on your trip, Lydia! The tie-dye will be awesome!

We did tie dye today and our girls loved it. Going to get this kit we can make shirts for the boys now.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I’m sure they will love it, too!
