  The picture is about right I would say it’s about 4 inches. I literally just ate a large by myself but I’m a big eater 😂.

  A medium is 8 inches long and contains 4 oz. of meat, except the hero which has 6 oz. of meat. I see a response that says it’s four inches, but it’s not. That is a small. Small is 3.5 to 4 inches. Medium is 8 and Large is 12. I’m a Firehouse District Manager.

  I have a large 14-year old (6’2″) who eats a large. My husband eats a medium, but I eat a small. Hope this helps a little, JenniferS!

   A medium is not that big for two people in my opinion. I guess if you took it home and hade something to go with it then it would.

  We just recently ate at Firehouse… I agree – I don’t think splitting a medium would be enough food for 2 adults unless you were light eaters. My husband and I get a large sub to share and it’s the perfect amount of food for us.

   How is a 8 inch sub not enough for two people for lunch? I’m sure it’s about 800 calories for the whole thing, so 400 is reasonable for lunch.
