Amazon Adds New Shipping Option for Pickup at Rite Aid
Get your Amazon packages over the counter, too!
Amazon.online is introducing yet another new shipping option this week!
With the launch of a new program called “Counter,” Amazon is offering select customers the option to buy online and pick up their order at one of more than 100 participating Rite Aid stores across the United States.
Amazon hopes to expand this program to 1,500 Rite Aid locations by the end of the year, and they plan to bring the service to other retailers, too.
Here’s how Amazon pickup at Rite Aid works:
- The “Counter” service will not cost customers anything extra, and it will work with existing shipping options like same-day delivery.
- Participating stores will receive Amazon packages daily.
- Shoppers will get an email letting them know their order is ready for pickup. They will have a 14-day window of time to pick up their order.
- The only thing customers will need to bring with them is the barcode that was emailed to them.
- Customers will NOT need to show ID to pick up their order.
According to onlinepany executives, Amazon’s ultimate goal is to give every customer an alternate delivery location where they can buy online and pick up in a store. This option has been successful with onlinepetitors like Walmart and Target.
