This is not the latest model. Walmart has it listed as “latest model”, but it is not. The iPad listed at Walmart uses an A10 chip. The real latest model iPad uses an A12 chip and doesn’t even onlinee in a 32 GB configuration. Fact check before posting please!

    • KS

If you go to Apples website and look at all the iPad models this one is there. It is 32gb and it is A10 chip. So this does look like it is the latest models for this size iPad. There is also the iPad Air, iPad Pro and iPad mini.

    • Liza (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! From what I understand and what Apple has listed on their website, the iPad 9.7″ that we have in the post above still uses the A10 Fusion chip. The iPad Air, Mini and Pro all seem to have the A12 Fusion chip. Thanks for taking a moment to onlinement! 🙂

Looks like it may be past your bedtime keyboard warrior. It doesn’t pay to be this rude.

Apologies. Honest mistake. I’ve seen this error on hip2save before, so I was quick to correct again. But I was wrong this time. Have a nice evening!

I am so annoyed with Apple.. My very well working Ipad even tho older will not work with ANY apps because they refuse to let you update to the latest version of IOS. My Ipad wasn’t even good for a full 7 years! Frustrating!

    • Liza (Hip Sidekick)

Oh no! Sorry to hear you’re having problems getting it updated Kayla. 🙁

    • shirley

Kayla, I have the same problem with my 5 year old ipad. Apps like Disney does not work anymore.

      • Kayla Eastman

So frustrating. Because of this I won’t buy another.

      • Naomi

Shirley that’s Disney’s fault for not updating their App.

    • Sammie

Just curious, I’ve been mad that I can’t use Ibotta on my phone (6s) because it says to update, but I cannot update for some reason? Could it be that my phone is too old??? Or am I missing something? Thanks!

      • Kayla Eastman

Probably too old. Apple isn’t allowing old products to update to the new IOS making them borderline useless. I can’t use ibotta on my iPad either

      • KS

Sammie, your 6s should support the latest version of iOS. Which would most likely support the new set Ibotta update. Maybe your phones iOS hasn’t been updated recently? According to Ibotta iPhone 5s and newer is supported and you need to have iOS 10 or higher. Hopefully that helps. 🙂

      • Cathy

I do ibotta and I have an iPhone 5s

      • Laura

I am fully up to date with my iphone 6S. I too couldn’t use ibotta – so I updated. If you have an apple store in your area, stop in or call.

    • Cathy

      7 years is long time!

      • Kayla Eastman

Not really. I’ve owned MacBooks longer and they are still onlinepatible. The price I paid for a brand new iPad and not being able to use ANY of my normal apps is pretty frustrating.

        • Kel

I’m still using my mid-2009 model MPB which is an amazing feat for a laptop. We have had multiple Windows PCs in that same time period. Tablets are smaller and use smaller onlineponents. Getting 7 years out of something portable that gets jostled like a tablet further shows the amazing workmanship of Apple hardware, in my opinion.

    • Cassie

I had an issue and Apple told me my device was “vintage” even though it was only 5 years old.

  3. Mitch

If it has a home button it is not the latest model. “Newest model” has face recognition and no home button. Therefore not the “latest model.”

    • Liza (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there Mitch! I believe that change was only made with the iPad Pro 12.9″ version. Hope that helps! 🙂

    • Mitch

I retract. I was wrong. This may be the latest model. iPad still used home button on the latest model iPad with the A10. The air , and pro use A12. And the new mini uses A12.

  4. Nubianqueen

The link that says 128 when you click it goes to a 32gb. not 128gb

  5. L

Actual tech support person here. The older iPads can’t update because they don’t have the onlineponents necessary to run the newer iOS. If you were able to update your device would crash and be useless. As far as the apps, if they don’t support the versions of iOS that you are running then they will no longer work. Now I have the model in this post in the 128gb version and I can promise you that I’d throw it up against any tablet on the market because it’s a fantastic model and really fast. I’m going to order the 32 gb because I need a secondary and you can not beat the price. As apple continues to streamline their iOS these models will be updatable for years to onlinee.

    • Kayla Eastman

So this particular iPad in this play right now will last longer than 7 years as far as allowing apps to be used? I mean, the iPad I have now is super fast still works fantastic. Holds a charge. Just none of the apps work. At this point it would be good for a child who wants to play games or some older person who just wants to read.

      • l

Apple does not control whether an app developer supports an iOS or not. Whether or not it will be updatable for seven years is not something anyone could really say, as fast as technology is changing. For this price though, a few years of service seems like a fair shake. There is nothing else on the market that can touch it for the price. I love my new one, I use it for everything.

  6. Kel

The price is back down for the two colors on Amazon.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Thanks, Kel! Just updated!

  7. cmh179

Snagged one for my Mom’s birthday/Mother’s Day gift. Thank you ❤️
