  7. nancyj

It says in ground use. Can you still use it for pots ?

    • Jen

Their response to this question – We don’t reonlinemend using Miracle Gro Garden Soil in pots, containers or raised beds. This type of soil is formulated as a soil amendment. It is too dense for container plants and may suffocate plant roots. You can safely use Miracle Gro Garden Soil in a raised bed when mixed with potting soil (50/50 mix of potting soil and garden soil/topsoil/Planting Soil).

    • jess

I use this stuff every year and my yard and pots are blooming everywhere! If I’m supposed to mix with other stuff I don’t lol! I think last year I bought 50 bags and stacked on side of house for when I needed it. I used every single bag.

  8. teamdrakecoupons

If you have both a Lowe’s and Home Depot local, Home Depot will match and beat the price by 10%!

    • teamdrakecoupons

      Items must be identical

Depending on your area of the country, this is sometimes referred to as ‘miracle death.’ it often contains large amounts on non-soil items, such as plastic & pallets.

Perhaps maybe for some non-vegtable plantings like shrubs/trees, but I know I won’t ever grow anything in it that I plan to eat.

    • hellfiregainz

Thank you for the information. Gives me something to research.

  10. KellZoll

It’s too heavy for pots. I’ve been using this for years to add dirt back to our garden. I usually wait for this sale at home depot – 5 for $10. Order online and pick up in store. They will load it into your car for you! I ordered 10 bags of dirt and 10 bags of mulch one year!

  11. Laura

In my area the price starts tomorrow (April 4th)

  12. KellZoll

Will also add I usually mix it with onlinepost half and half to lighten it up. Our local recycling center has free mulch. Most onlinemunities have free onlinepost giveaways too. All those city park clippings get onlineposted.

    • CJJ

Be careful getting that free mulch. If it’s from a tree they took down from disease or termites you’re inviting trouble to your house.

A little off topic….Does anyone know when Home Depot will have their $5.00 Boston Fern and other plants (herbs!) sale? It is usually a one day sale….in April??? Thanks.

My husband works at Lowe’s. This item/price is regional. They also have similar items in other regions for the same price. Best to go in store and they’ll help you find the right stuff.

  15. Sue Quakenbush

Came to lowes in vincennes they would not honor this price said this was not their store that their store went off sale the 15th. I drove almost 50 miles to get this and it was a scam th it s is why I hate shopping lowes they never honor what is advertised even when you show them the ad that was on line that you have on advertising or till the 17th.
