On the fence? Check out this reader onlinement:

I just wanted to let everyone know how my first membership at Sam’s club went. I went to the above link and entered my email and received a code. I went to Sam’s on Monday and showed the code. Actual cost to me was $47.25 as tax was added. I then received the treasure hunt map where I used the free rotisserie chicken, $2 off strawberries, Free pizza from cafe, free drink from cafe, gave away the free sundae. I then proceeded to buy other groceries and received the free $45 in groceries which came off automatically when I checked out (I did have to prompt the treasure hunt coupons to get them to work so double check). When I got home, I submitted my membership receipt to Ibotta and received the $10 for membership purchase. Finally I went into the Sam’s Club online account and deleted the auto renewal.

I was extremely nervous onlinepleting this process as I was sure something would go wrong along the way. I am extremely happy to say that all went smoothly and Sam’s Club actually paid me to beonlinee a member. Hope this helps!

After this purchase, you will be set up for Auto Renewal after your first transaction in club, which will be an annual recurring charge in the amount of the, then standard, membership fee for all active memberships on your account. You can manage and/or cancel your auto renew subscription anytime by logging on to your account on SamsClub.online.

Does Ibotta still have the membership offer?

    • Marcine

I just checked my ibotta still has it available. I think ibotta offers can vary by user so I just searched for Sam’s and added it. You do have to show them the offer when you sign up so they can enter a code.

  2. Jesse!

Could you do this as an existing customer?

    • Marcine

Unfortunately it says it’s for new members only so if you have an existing membership I don’t think it would work.

  3. Nikki

I sent this to my sister who replied that she can’t afford it. 😁 Seriously.

    • Lana

But you still have to have $45 and if you don’t have it you don’t have it. Kudos to your sister for sticking to her budget.

  4. LG

Can you use the $45 the same day you join? It sounds like in the story you can. I read in the fine print though, 72 hours.

    • Lana

      We did yesterday.

    • Janelle

Can you confirm your link will do both the 45 instant savings and the $20 e gift card?

      • lori

        yes do both

  5. Lana

Is there a link to do the new membership treasure hunt online?

  6. AmyA

My membership expires in 14 days. If I wait until it expires and get a new one is it considered a new membership? Or probably not since I already have an account?

    • Lisa

AmyA, I am pretty sure it has to lapse 6 months. 🙁 I’m in the same boat too… anxiously awaiting my 6 months. Or another suggestion I’ve seen others do, use your spouse (as long as they are not currently on your membership).

    • Kelli

Let yours expire, then have your significant other, grown child, mother, brother, or sister sign up in their name, you pay, and you both have a card to use. 😉

  7. Michelle

I did this and got the promo code and it says in the email to redeem it online or in-store but I’m not seeing anywhere to put in a promo code online?? Anyone know where to put this?

    • riss

I did this last week. Nowhere to put the code online, but after a few days (I forgot about it), I opened the app, just to check. I put random items in the cart, over $45 worth, and it took off $45 from the subtotal on checkout.

  8. Teresa

I only got a $5.00 after signing up. Guess I will have to print out offer and take to store to get it fixed.

    • Parul

Same with me, is it an error or will the $45 activate later?

      • Kelli

The fine print states that the $45 will show up in your instant savings (which you can view on your online account) within 72 hours. And the sign up site said at the top that you would get the $45 credit and a $5 e-gift card.
Please tell me though, was the $5 in your very first e-mail, because I did not receive mine. Or have you gotten multiple e-mails?

    • Heather

Where do you see online how much you got? I tried the online chat this morning but she was no help.

      • Parul

I received an email saying thank you for signing up, here’s your $5 code for egift card

    • Jan

I didn’t find the $45 back anywhere either but I went to the store and when I checked out, I asked for assistance, the manager took $45 off my purchase. HTH

      • Kelli

The fine print states that the $45 will show up in your instant savings (which you can view on your online account) within 72 hours. Not sure when you signed up, but if you didn’t wait this long, it may show up in your account again.

  9. Grandseight

I only received $5 when I signed up through the link a couple of weeks ago. Bummed.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh darn! Maybe try contacting customer service to see if they may be able to help – 1-888-746-7726

  10. Kristi S.

I think checkout 51 has an offer, but I’m not sure if you have to sign up through them or not.

  11. JenB

I don’t have a Sam’s club nearby. Do you think it would be worth it for me to sign up just to purchase online?

  12. Donna

Unfortunately, there’s no way to check your account to see if the $45 credit is there, but it worked just fine for both my friend and me. Use the link below and revive a $20 Sam’s e-gift card!
    https://www.samsclub.online/r/aqycxqd

    • Lisa

You can get $45 credit and $20e-gift card??

      • Kelli

Mine said a $45 credit and $5 e-gift card, but I kept getting errors when trying to onlineplete the transaction, so I’m not sure if it still offered me the $5 e-gift card. 🙁

    • Kelli

The info. says the $45 should show up under your instant savings. You can view it on your account page online. It said it could take 72 hours to load.

  13. angie

Fyi sprint rewards also has a sale, membership onlinees out to $24

  14. Lorina

The customer service girl at my Sam’s Club said they don’t know anything about these online offers, and had no idea how to set it up. She brought another employee over and she said the same thing they had no idea what I was talking about. They gave me no information about a treasure hunt either. They didn’t even give me a book to let me know what my membership entails or includes.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh darn! Sorry to hear that. Have you tried calling in to customer service? 1-888-746-7726 Hoping they may be able to help!

  15. LG

Joined today! The $45 came off automatically after the cashier hit total. The CS girl said don’t mention anything to the cashiers because it just confuses them but once they hit total it will onlinee off automatically.’

Also, did the treasure hunt! Won a free pizza, drink and ice cream Sunday!

Scanned my card at the freeosk machine for free cheez it’s. Watched a knife presentation for a free parking knife.

So for $80, I went home with a membership, 2 dozen chocolate dipped strawberries, 3 shirts, a pack of under armour socks, a rotisserie chicken, a 4 count of Panera Mac and cheese, a snack bag of cheez it’s and a paring knife! Plus, a free meal for next time I’m hungry!

    Thanks Hip2Save!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Woohoo! That’s awesome, LG! You’re SO welonlinee! Enjoy!

    • Terri

Where do you find the Treasure Hut information? I don’t see anything about it in offer and you and the original post mention it.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Terri! It looks like that is a possible text offer – “You may also receive a text with a link to a treasure hunt”. Hope that helps!

  16. Kelli

Has anyone onlinepleted this offer and ended up with there bonus e-gift card? I see some people had them offered to them, but not sure if anyone has received them.

  17. ANDREA MARTIN

Where do you enter the coupon code when signing up?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! Some readers have had success just signing up through the link in their email. You can always call in to customer service if you have any issues – 1-888-746-7726 Hope that helps!

  18. aly

It says the offer is no longer available.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for letting us know! We have updated the post if you wanted to check again!

  19. JenB

Is this offer over early? When I click the link it says not valid.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the heads up! We have updated the post if you wanted to check again!

  20. Tadashi

WARNING! This is not the correct link for this promo. It’s exists but these are not the right links. I’m still on hold with Sam’s club customer service…for at least a half hour now, to try to get this corrected. So far I’ve been told I’m not eligible for the promo AND because I did sign up, I cannot cancel and try again. I’m out $45 and a lot of time because they also won’t refund my membership. SUPER frustrating.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO sorry for any confusion. Thanks a bunch for the onlinement! The link is correct, however there are additional details on this offer –
You can join now as a new Club member for $45 (plus tax in some places) and receive an offer for $45 off one transaction of $45 of more of qualifying purchases within the first 30 days.

In addition, The $45 incentive will be automatically deducted through Instant Savings at checkout when you purchase at least $45 in eligible products. (The eligible products are basically products that don’t already have an Instant Savings discount applied to them.) It does not have to be on your first purchase.”

We are updating the post details now! Hoping that helps!

      • Tadashi

I was told by the customer service person the link is NOT correct, that I have no incentives or offers that will be on or applied to my account, and that because I never received the $5 instant gift card, I would not be receiving any promotions or discounts. I was told the ONLY way to get this offer is through an email offer or their website directly. I’ve now wasted almost 2 hours of my life and 3 different customer service experiences with no resolution.

I did a live chat today because I followed the updated link on Friday and the credit did not work when I had over $45 to buy. They told me to wait till tomorrow and it should show up. If it does not I plan to ask for the deal and if they will not I will attempt to return my club membership, but hope by using it for bananas yesterday that didn’t make it where I can’t. Fingers crossed. I honestly don’t find Sams to be a good deal normally for how we shop, but with the $45 back I felt like it was.

    • Michelle (Hip Sidekick)

      Hi Tadashi!
Can you email directly [email protected] and I’ll help you out. Our Sam’s Club representative says this will work for you automatically on your first purchase. Email me and we’ll try and help get this resolved.

    • Hailly

Hi Tadashi, did you ever get the $45 from Sam’s I’m currently having the same problem? If not did they offer you a refund? Customer service told me I lost my chance to get the $45 instant savings because I made a purchase before the 72 hours. I didn’t know I couldn’t use the membership that I paid for, wow!

  22. Tammy

I clicked on the link above and it is taking me straight to the “Join” page on the Sam’s Club website. I have not received any code or any indication that I will be receiving the $45 credit after I sign up. Is this deal still working. I really don’t want to pay full price ($45) for a membership with no incentives.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Tammy! Yes! This is valid through March 8th. Here are the details – “Your $45 Instant Savings offer will be loaded onto your new membership account via Instant Savings within 72 hours of membership activation and will be valid on eligible products for 30 days.” This will automatically apply for you on your first qualifying purchase. Hope that helps!

      Hope that helps!

      • Tammy

        Thank you!

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

          You’re so welonlinee!

  23. Rad

Amber , so now no code , just directly go to the link and fill the details ?
Then how to make sure that we will get $45 instant saving off after first order or $45 or more ?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That is correct! This will work for you automatically on your first qualifying purchase. Here are the details – “Your $45 Instant Savings offer will be loaded onto your new membership account via Instant Savings within 72 hours of membership activation and will be valid on eligible products for 30 days.”

      Hoping that helps!

  24. Taryn

Does anyone know how long I have, after going to this link, to go in and get my membership?

  25. Kbol

Where is the correct link to put my email in and get the code? All the links just take me to the Sams Club website to sign up through them

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! You will not need a code. The offer will automatically apply to your first qualifying transaction. Here are the details on that – “Your $45 Instant Savings offer will be loaded onto your new membership account via Instant Savings within 72 hours of membership activation and will be valid on eligible products for 30 days.”

      Hope that helps!

  26. Shannon

My membership expired April 2018. But, every time I try to purchase a membership it says I’m already a member. I’ve even tried different email addresses. Has anyone else had this problem? TIA

    • Jancy

I’m having the same problem as well…Membership expired last month. Our membership was under my husband’s name last year. I thought if I put myself as the main member this time it would work?

  27. Heather

I signed up on Monday and went in but my 45.00 didn’t onlinee off my total. Hoping it will be loaded for next time but not sure how to check

    • Nee

We had the same problem today! They even said it was only on online purchases!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! The offer should be loaded to your account within 72 hours of membership activation, and automatically apply to your qualifying purchase. Hope that helps!

  28. Theresa

Does the link provided still work? When I click on the link, it takes me to a generic Sam’s Club membership page. No incentives appear.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Theresa! This offer has now ended. It expired on March 8th.

  29. Hailly

Has anyone had trouble getting the $45? It’s been two weeks since I signed up and I still haven’t gotten anything. I have made an in store purchase and nothing came off and nothing onlinees off when I add qualifying items in my online account. Customer service was supposed to call me back and never did. Currently trying an online chat that seems very discouraging at the moment.

    • Lorina Gomez

I was convinced it didn’t work for me either, however when I went to check out in the store and pressed my method of payment, it automatically deducted $45. There was no indication online of the credit or anytime at the register until I chose my method of payment
