I just bought this before x-mas at Costco for about the same price – totally worth it for this one! I have had 2 other dyson’s (they do not last forever – suction eventually lessens even after washing filters (ick) ) and because of that coupled with the super high price I tried another expensive brand (don’t ask why???) Miele – that was the worst brand EVER! I returned it, and tried Hoover wind tunnel (mediocre), shark – so heavy my arm would burn!!! I almost kept it to force exercise (lol) but it was ridiculus, and finally kept a black and decker for under $75 from walmart! It was a surprise at how well it actually worked (still mediocre, but better than most), and so happy with the price. When I came across this dyson price…had to try a dyson again and happy I did. It is improved in how it handles (goes further under furniture and turns easily) attachments fall off like on all brands, but it FINALLY works well on both carpet and wood floors without kicking chunks out the back (I never turn off the beater brush – doesn’t suction everything up without the beater brush!). If this is in your budget – definitely buy it at this price! My mom just bought one, too, to replace her old dyson and also loves the new design. Hope this helps someone.
