   Would 2 1/2 be too young? I don’t see any minimum age on the event.

  My niece is under 2 and enjoys the snacks and painting. My sil helps her hammer also

  Not too young at all! Parents will be there to help anyway and toddlers really benefit from using their motor skills painting & assembling. I started taking my kids around 18 months and they’ve always loved it and done very well!

  I saw someone build one for their toddler/infant last weekend, with the older sibling, who might have been 2 1/2 too. They did great!

  My suggestion, have your kid wear clothing you don’t really care about, have them “help” as much with the building as possible, and let that kid go to town painting it!

  I had my kids doing the Lowe’s crafts (NLA) when they were 2 and 5 years old, because it was easier to work with both of them than find someone to watch the 2 year old. I don’t know how old she was when we started the Home Depot ones; I found some painted projects from when the younger one was 4 years old. We write names on the bottom of the crafts and date them; I like seeing how their handwriting has improved over the years, from when they wrote their name over my yellow marker to now’s beginning cursive!
