  Yes a nice deal esp if this is what she typically wears. Eyeshadows, lip sticks/glosses. Also if these are colors u think she looks pretty wearing, u cant go wrong. 😉

  Taylor- if she loves bare minerals she will love you for buying this!!! The mineral veil is a powder you put over foundation. There is a blush to brighten up her beautiful cheeks, eyeshadow to make her eyes sparkle and lip colors to make her lips pop. And a mascara. Go for it!

  Not a great deal, as these are 40% off in their stores and were 40% off online about a week ago, too. Also, the description states that the set contains shade XYZ (great neutral lip color), but the video and reviews state that it contains shade Swag instead (a darker mauve color — so both of the liquid lip colors are on the dark side). So, it really depends on the type of colors she likes whether or not she’d get a lot of use out of this set. If she likes very pink toned blush and darker statement lip colors, it could still be a decent purchase — but I’d wait for another 40% off promo (it’s from the holiday collection, so price will drop further for sure) or buy in-store.

  It was $30 online with code HOLIDAYSALE (extra 40% off last chance items), but that code is expired now. When I stopped by the local store here, they were sold out of that one but had a few of the other holiday sets 40% off (I got the Cosmic Dust set for about $7). So, you’d prob need to call your local store to check to see if they have holiday stock left.

  Swag is *not* a dark mauve color lol…it’s a light pink! You must have it confused w/ some other shade. And as far as Scandal goes, I have that shade and although it’s darker than most of the other shades in that line, it’s still a very wearable berry brown (esp. for Winter). It can be blotted in and worn as a stain, worn w/ a lighter shade, or over a lip liner. So it’s one light shade and one dark shade, not 2 dark/statement ones. Hope that helps, OP!

  Shades can look different on different people/skin tones. Several sites, including Ulta and Sephora describe Swag as a blushing mauve. Perhaps I should have described it as mid-tone instead, but it’s still definitely more of a statement lip than the shade XYZ that’s listed as being in the set. I own 6 different shades of these liquid lipsticks and have tried on several others in-store. So it’s a subjective matter and definitely one of personal preference. Anyway, just trying to help by sharing that others have found (and noted in the reviews section on the BM site) that the set doesn’t contain the colors listed. I love the shade XYZ but would never wear Swag.

  Of course lip colors look different on various skin tones…that’s why you should look at swatches of the color itself, instead of just going by a website’s description. “Mauve” = a dark, purplish color, but Swag is obviously a midtone pink and midtone pinks are neutrals. A “statement color” is the total opposite of a neutral- it’s a bold or bright shade, like an orangey-red or a vampy/dark color. So Swag is definitely not a statement color by that definition lol. It’s obviously a cooler pink though, while XYZ is a warmer pink- so the difference in tone is probably why you don’t feel confident about pulling Swag off, as midtone pinks and nudes are highly subjective like you said. Hope that clarifies things! 🙂
