I have this faucet and the 3 minute auto shutoff is in case someone forgets to turn it off or if the sensor gets tripped and no one is around. You can always wave your hand to turn it off. The best part to me is when it’s set to auto, you can pull down the sprayer and it will turn on, then turn off when it’s put back. It really is an awesome faucet!
I got this faucet a while back when they had a deal on it. I was confused at first, because it’s not like sensor faucets in public restrooms where it turns on if your hand is under the faucet and turns off when you pull your hands back. The sensor works as an on/off switch where you move your hand in front of the sensor to turn water on and off. I also started having problems with the stream of water after a couple months, but customer service was great and quickly sent me a replacement faucet head at no cost to me while under warranty and that resolved that issue. All kinks aside, I am still happy with the purchase as someone who uses the kitchen sink a lot. It has really cut back on wet spots on the counter and hardware and it’s very convenient when your hands are really soiled!
We bought this faucet on sale over a year ago, when Hip2Save posted it. We can’t say enough good things about it! We previously had a Delta Touch2O that acted like it was continuously possessed, despite 3 different solenoids and quite a few hours with a technician. But this faucet rules them all! I am crazy paranoid about salmonella on my faucets, and this fixes that issue. I also love the automatic shutoff feature, because sometimes the cats are naughty when we’re gone, and they get onto the counter tops. They have bumped the handle on our previous faucets before and turned them on! If they accidentally turn this faucet on in any way, it’s not a huge issue!
