…or you can go to Walmart and buy a two pack of Edge 7 oz. shaving gel cans for $5.34. That’s 38¢ an ounce as opposed to buying the two smaller cans at CVS with a final price of 58$ an ounce. Plus now you are stuck having to buy something you really need at CVS with the Extra Bucks at inflated prices.

Shop a little and you’ll find most CVS extra buck deals are BAD! I wonder why they are posted here? Hmmmm.

Hey there Mary! Many people play the CVS drugstore game and hardly spend any money out of pocket because they roll the Extra Buck deals from week to week, and that’s truly where you can WIN over buying at Walmart. Thanks for sharing the Walmart deal!

    • mike

Agree!!! Most items are overpriced. I’ve scrambled many times to find a reasonable deal to use extra bucks on before expiration. It is a game (erica) that many people don’t win.

      • Mel

WOW! What’s wrong with you two? It’s a deal posted on hip2save. If you don’t like it, don’t do it!! No need to bash this website or it’s posters. Some people, including me, are able to save tons of money using deals posted on here.

Mary, it has taken me a while because I’m a slow learner (LOL), but you can get really good deals when you use your extra care bucks to purchase products that give you extra care bucks, onlinebined with CVS product coupons, manufacturer coupons, and the CVS extra $’s off a certain purchase amount coupons (i.e. $5.00 off a $40.00 purchase). The more you stack, the more you save. I am a huge Walmart fan, but I always buy my shampoo, hairspray, foundation, toothpaste (I never pay for toothpaste – always get it free!), toothbrushes, paper towels, and toilet paper from CVS. I agree that their regular prices are ridiculous! Now, I have yet to master Walgreens. For the longest time, I didn’t realize my register reward points were expiring. I have found it best to stick to one drugstore for the most part.

    • Mirela

Actually CVS is still better deal, 24.5cents per oz.

      • Mary

ACTUALLY that’s 58.8 cents per oz. Keep shopping at CVS!

    • Mel

Well, I think this is a great deal. My husband travels and the small can fits in his accessories bag perfectly.

While CVS (and really any drug store) REGULAR shelf prices may indeed be higher than Walmart or Target, I onlinee out better stacking crt’s or store q’s with manuf q’s and rolling EB’s. I can’t do that at WM and Target rarely has store coupons to stack anymore.
I usually have on hand $25-$30 EB’s in my wallet and I’ve never had to scramble to use them up. I shop every wk and able to roll my EBs on things I actually NEED. Sometimes I might use more EBs to pay so I have a lower out of pocket than EB’s I get in return. But they’re easily to build up again. If you’re not playing it right, then yeah you lose.

(this is a different Mel than who posted above!)

I couldn’t disagree more with your post , Mary. At CVS I can get tons of free stuff or items with very little out of pocket. If you know how to take advantage of their deals and stack coupons you’ll pay at least 80% to 90% less at CVS. Walmart is a rip off. They never have any sales or deals.

I agree, Mel! I appreciate all that Hip2save and team does. This blog has saved me a fortune.

I agree, Mel. I love Hip2Save and CVS. I saved so much.
