I had a “hair color event” at my moms house a couple of weeks ago. Three ladies, including myself got a new hair color. One brunette, one black and a red head! We all use the Clairol Nice n’ Easy Hair Color. The gray coverage was as promised but now I know why. We where unable to get that sticky color off our foreheads and had coloring marks for over a week (washing the hair twice after the coloring process and three times throughout the week.) Please be aware and choose wisely. It was worth a try but I will go back to L’Oreal!!!

Don’t be discouraged. The same happened to me not long ago. I found out mostly everyone who dyes their hair uses Vaseline. The purpose of using it is to avoid staining your forehead/hairline. Put the Vaseline on BEFORE dying hair all around the hairline. Then after dying hair, wash the Vaseline off either with a wipe or in the shower & no stained skin!

It doesn’t matter the brand, I’ve dyed my forehead and ears before! Now, I apply a cold cream (or vaseline as Jessica said) around my hairline & ears before dying. If you do get some on your face, its best to immediately wipe it off with a warm rag. If you miss a spot after rinsing out the dye, then use a cotton ball soaked in alcohol, and that usually gets rid of the dye marks.

I use all kinds of brands, usually buy what its on sale, and what I do is put Vaseline all around my forehead, ears and neck too and works good… try it next time

I’ve dyed my hair since I was a teen (yes.. I’ve been grey since then) and I have tried all tropes of hair dye and have never had the color stay on longer than rinsing hair color out. I actually love the new designed Nice n Easy. It leaves my hair feeling like it was professionally done.

Same thing happened to me. The old formula didn’t do that. Grrr!

  4. NANCY SWANSON

I liked the old formula. The new formula smells awful, is too runny, and stained my counter and forehead.
The old formula didn’t stain like that.
