Blueberries $1.49 at Aldi in NE Ohio and are the large, really sweet ones, too. People were buying them to store in their freezers for later on in the year, when blueberries are so expensive.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

That’s a great idea! I like to freeze my extra blueberries too! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Sarah

Yes LOVE Aldi’s!! I always get my blueberries from here when they’re on sale, you can’t beat the price.

  3. cjg

Anyone have a tips on freezing them so they actually still taste good? I’ve never had good luck with it 😞

    • TWood

Yes please share. Bet Lina does lol

    • Amy L

Freeze them without washing. Washing and then freezing makes the skin tough. Wash before baking

    • Lana

Pour them straight into glass jars and right into the freezer. When you want to use them put them in a fine mesh strainer and rinse them with cold water until the water runs clear. It took me 35 years to figure this out.

  4. Staci

Freeze blueberries on a cookie sheet. Make sure they don’t touch. Bag them up and seal them after they freeze. Get as much air out of the bag as possible.

    • Staci

They will still be good for baking.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Thanks for the helpful tip!

  5. Karen A

Can you eat the blueberries frozen like grapes?

    • E

      Yes! So good!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, you can! My kiddos love eating frozen blueberries straight from the freezer!

  6. Scarlet B

You can freeze avocados, too. I just scoop them out of the skin into a freezer bag, add 1 T lime juice per avocado, seal, and then mush and mix right in the bag. I use them for guacamole or avocado chicken salad.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Good to know! Thanks for the suggestion!

  7. Diana

Wal mart has $0.20 avocados and $0.25 mangoes!!!! Wow! This is the cheapest i’ve ever seen those!

    • Rockstar

Wow, where do you live? Snap those up and freeze them. My Walmart grocery app which has the current prices for my area is showing mangos at $.88. And I live in an area in Florida famous for its mangoes.

  8. Emily

Just stopped by AlDI. The blueberries are $1.69 down here in Fort Worth TX. Still a good price!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Aldi prices do tend to vary per region. I’m glad they were still a great price for you though!
