The Secret’s Out! Here are Our Top Money Saving Shopping Tips for Victoria’s Secret
Want to know a little secret?
We’ve got some money-saving shopping tips that’ll save you a pretty penny at Victoria’s Secret! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a love affair with Victoria’s Secret since I love their products. The problem? Their prices can sometimes leave me feeling like I’m better off wearing the same four bras forever.
Luckily there are so many ways to stretch a dollar at the popular undergarment retailer!
1. First and foremost, don’t pay for panties!
Seriously, Victoria’s Secret pretty much slingshots free panties at customers — well, not literally. 😂 But they do send out free panty offers in the mail or as a purchase freebie! This is why it’s super important to make sure that you give your landline number when checking out in the store (so they can pull your street address for promo mailers). You can also sign up through this link to opt in without having to visit a store first.
2. Sign up for the VS promotional emails.
When you opt-in for emails, you’re pretty much telling Victoria’s Secret that you want ALL the deals, which you will most definitely receive. You’ll be sent email notifications for exclusive online and in-store offers, new product alerts, store events, and store openings in your area.
3. Apply for the VS Angel Card.
We RARELY suggest signing up for store cards, or credit cards in general, BUT the Angel Card gives you some incredible perks if you regularly shop at VS.
• Early access to the Semi-Annual sale — the ultimate savings event at VS!
• Coupon booklet with a coupon good for every month of the year — talk about even more savings!
• Free shipping on orders that include a bra — use code JUST4ANGELS when you add a full-priced bra to your online order!
• Free birthday gift — hello $10 off your purchase!
• $10 rewards for every $250 spent — free money for being a regular shopper!
• Triple point days — this means you can hit your free rewards faster!
• Triple points on all bra purchases — again, rewards!
• Your card is also good at Bath & Body Works! — they’re owned by the same onlinepany!
4. Don’t overlook the Pink brand.
Sure, the Pink brand of Victoria’s Secret can feel a little Forever 21 at times, but the variety of fits and selection of colors/prints makes the line worth browsing. Also, even though the VS brand has done away with their bathing suit line (trust me, I’m still sad about it 😞), Pink still carries theirs! I found that going a size up gives me the same fit that I’m used to with the old VS swimwear, but you can check their sizing chart to see what works best for you.
5. While you’re browsing, sign up for Pink Nation.
If getting a free panty just for signing up doesn’t entice you, know that you’ll receive exclusive deals and mailers (similar to Victoria’s Secret offers) by joining this program. They have offers separately from VS which means more potential for freebies!
Hip Tip: To sign up for PINK Nation, go here, then scroll all the way to the bottom where you’ll see a dark grey bar and click on ‘Join Pink Nation’ under the Pink Nation subject line at the bottom.
6. Know their price adjustment policy and your order timeline.
You can have your purchase adjusted should the price drop lower than what you paid for both in-store (up to 14 days from purchase) and online (up to 21 days from ship date) purchases. I like to put a reminder in my Google calendar with my order details for 20 days after I place an order so I can remember to check the site and recoup the price difference. You could also use an app like Slice which monitors your previous orders and lets you know when the price drops!
7. Optimize your selection at their Semi-Annual Sale.
You probably already know about the Semi-Annual sale even if you’re a casual shopper at VS. Like any super sale, the selection is much better at the beginning than the end, so if you’re serious about getting a good score, shop early — Angel cardholders actually get first dibs on the sale.
The sale happens twice a year (typically in January and June) with items marked up to 50% off at the beginning of the sale and some up to 75% off. It’s also good to note that the sale will go live on the website first (though in-store purchases tend to yield a better deal) and Angel Cardholders have exclusive access.
This is also a great time to take advantage of their price adjusting policy (see the tip above!) should you buy something before the sale starts that ends up dropping to a lower price during this time.
8. Shop without buyer’s regret with their return policy.
Victoria’s Secret gives you up to 90 days to change your mind on any purchase made in-store or online to receive a full refund with original receipt. (After 90 days, you can still exchange the merchandise or opt for a merchandise credit.)
In-store purchases returned without a receipt can be exchanged or issued a merchandise credit based on the lowest selling price for the returned merchandise factoring in all promotions, discounts, offers, free items (as part of a qualifying purchase), and coupons that may have been applied.
While you can return an online purchase through the mail, you’re better off returning it in-store (if you have one nearby) to avoid paying the return shipping fee.
9. Spend more and visit less.
Instead of making frequent casual shopping trips to Victoria’s Secret, be more strategic with how much you spend per visit. They are constantly offering free gifts with purchase like bags, perfumes, apparel, and even rewards cards when you spend over a certain threshold. So instead of buying pajamas during one visit, panties during the next, and new bra sometime after that, aim to buy all these products at once so you can meet the minimum amount required and score free stuff! Just make sure to limit your visits so you’re not blowing your entire budget. 😉
10. If you’re a cardholder, don’t miss out on Triple Points Days.
If you made a large purchase recently (within the last 90 days), and you’re also an Angel Cardholder, make sure you maximize your rewards potential by earning triple points! Simply call (844) 392-6435 (1-844-3XANGEL), enter your card number, and choose from recent transactions to select your desired triple point day(s) — the number of days available to choose determined by tier: Angel = 1, VIP = 2, Forever = 3.
If you’re calling on the day you made the purchase, the transaction may not be available yet to the automated assistant, but you will have the option to choose “today” as your triple points day. Keep in mind that bonus points will be applied within 3-6 weeks after selection and triple points cannot be onlinebined with other point-earning promotions.
11. Stack coupons and promos for maximum savings.
The website almost ALWAYS has a promo code for free shipping when you spend a certain amount of money, which is another reason why you should be conscious of higher value shopping trips. The best part is that you can stack up to 2 promo codes per transaction (3 promo codes if you’re an Angel Cardholder) as long as they don’t explicitly state that they can’t be onlinebined with other offers.
Note though that the promo codes must each be a different category of promotion — free shipping, free gift, or percent/dollars off. For example, you can potentially get free shipping, a free panty, and $10 off a bra when you stack promo codes together. Sweet!
12. Check the website prices vs. in-store.
It may sound strange, but VictoriasSecret.online and the brick-and-mortar stores operate separately, meaning they won’t price match against one another. Before heading to the store for a specific product, check the price online so you can make sure you get the best deal. It also might be worth your time to check the website on your phone while in store to see if the price of the product in hand is actually cheaper online. Don’t forget to factor shipping costs into your price onlineparisons!
13. As always, check for discounted gift cards.
No matter where you’re shopping, check for discounted gift cards on sites like Raise or Gift Card Granny — current savings on Victoria’s Secret cards are up to 15%! Be sure to double check fine print for exclusions and conditions, such as in-store or online only redemption.
