How does a free YMCA membership for your middle schooler sound? Research shows that 7th grade is a critical time in a young person’s life when exposure to risk factors greatly increases. That is why many YMCA locations offer a 7th Grade Initiative Program that provides a FREE YMCA membership for your 7th grader with full benefits and NO monthly fees! WOW!

The goal of the 7th Grade Initiative is to inspire youth to discover their passions, develop a healthy lifestyle, and gain the assets needed to succeed in school and life. These youth will have opportunities for fitness and sports, as well as time to socialize with peers in a safe environment!

Note that parents will need to register each 7th grader and show the child’s school ID (or a report card may work at select locations). Also, the program dates vary greatly by location, so be sure to contact your local YMCA to verify dates and to see if they are participating in this program.
