Can I use points to pay & still get RR & points back? Thanks !

    • Cassandra (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi there! You sure can. Hope that helps!

      • rebecca

cassandra, are you sure this changed? when? is has been the case for quite a while that you cannot get a threshhold offer if you spend points.
this is from H2Save’s own website under a heading “Walgreen’s News”:
“Keep in mind, you will still not be able to earn points if you use points to pay for a threshold offer (for example spend $30, get 10,000 Balance Rewards Points back). Therefore, you will NOT want to pay for threshold offers with points since you won’t receive points back.”

        • rebecca

in Jiya’s scenario, i think she probably still gets the RR.
I don’t think points useage affects RR or Ibotta.

    • ramya

you can’t use points for this transaction… because it buy $20 get 7000 points.. if you use points and it falls below $20, you won’t get points.
you can use points where ad says” buy 2 get 5000 points”

      • ramya

for $7 RR you need to spend $30.. if you use points and total falls below $30 you won’t RR.
you can use points where ad says” buy 1 get $3 RR”

      • Erica (Silly Sidekick)

        You are correct Ramya!

        From the Walgreens policy:

Walgreens is now also allowing you to earn AND redeem Bonus Rewards points in the same transaction on unit offers (unit offer examples: Buy 2, get back 5,000 Bonus Rewards Points or Buy 1, get back 2,000 Bonus Rewards Points etc). Keep in mind, you will not be able to earn points if you use points to pay for a threshold offer (for example spend $30, get 10,000 Bonus Rewards Points back). Therefore, you will NOT want to pay for threshold offers with points since you won’t receive points back.

  2. Katie

Where is the coupon for “Get 7000 Points for spending $20 and clipping coupon”?

    • Cassandra (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Katie! I’m seeing this offer on the coupon page when I click the link. It may also be in your account. Hope that helps!

  3. SleepyDean

Well I did this deal yesterday and only one $4 coupon and one $3 coupon came off even though I had 4 loaded on my card. I was desperate for diapers so I went for it.

  4. Victoria W. C.

In the first deal idea that’s good through today, I did not get $7 RR for spending $30 because the total was $24 after the coupons are deducted so that doesn’t work as mentioned FYI.

  5. Tara

So has this deal worked for anyone? @hip2save have you verified this deal?
I know last time I was in Walgreens and wondered why I didn’t get a threshold point balance the cashier said the threshold amount had to be met AFTER coupons and other discounts (which I don’t believe was the same in the past)

  6. Tara

    ??
Has this deal worked for anyone???

  7. Victoria W. C.

I did not get $7 RR for spending $30 because the total was $24 after the coupons were applied so this deal doesn’t work as mentioned FYI. The cashier explained that it has to be $30 or more AFTER coupons and other discounts in order to get the $7 Register Rewards.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Victoria, thank you for letting us know how it went for you. I chatted with Walgreens online, and they did inform me that the total does have to be $30 after coupons and discount to trigger the rewards.

      • julia

i paid 24$ and got a 7$ register reward…sometimes their catalina machine may not be working…sometimes they “forget” to hand the printed catalina to customer…in my personal experience.

        • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh dear! I’m so glad it worked for you though!!
