I ordered some peppermint and rosemary plants online from Home Depot last year and they were so healthy. Their still growing and doing good. Just thought I would post in case someone was wanting to order online.

    • DJ

Countrygal, how long was the delivery time?

      • countrygal

It was about a week. That wasn’t all travel time, lol, plants would be dead by then. If you do order I hope yours are as good as mine. The peppermint is just amazing, its spreading and oh, it smells so good. Enjoy your summer.

        • BH

Mint is often invasive if planted in a garden bed. (It’s technically a weed!). Save it for a pot/container or you will have mint everrrrywhere.

  2. DJ

I recently purchased a couple bags of potting soil, and one of the bags smelled like manure. How do I return the soil? I poured it into a pot.

    • Alicia

While I can understand the initial smell not being pleasant it is actually a good thing. The potting mix you bought has manure in it which fertilizers your plants.

  3. karen

I don’t see charcoal in their sale! 🙁 Sad. I always buy it on sale that weekend.

    • Momof7

Noooo! We’ve been waiting for this saleas we always stock up twice a summer! 😥

    • Becky

My husband likes to stock up too. He just got a 2 pack at Walmart for $7.88.

  4. LC

Can’t get enough flowers in my garden!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I’ve been feeling the same way recently! Back to the store I go! 😉

  5. Susan

It shows a multi pack of flowers for the 5-18 deal of the day. Anyone know what the specific deal is?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Susan! I just called in to my store. They let me know that tomorrow’s deal is 2 for $10 – 12 Pack Annuals. Hope that helps!

      • Susan

Thanks for calling and the info:)

        • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You’re very welonlinee! Glad to help!

      • supersaver

        The regular price is $9.98

  6. Court!

Anybody know if Menards has a similar sale onlineing up? Have rebate money I’d like to spend on plants there…

  7. Momof7

I am in need of some affordable planters that wont crack amd dont look overly cheap. Suggestions? Anyone!?

    • HBee

Momof7: I use metal conatiners/buckets/popcorn canisters with cool ads on them. They are tough, cheap, and you just need to drill a hole on the bottom for drainage. I don’t know what your style is, but mine is pretty funky/junky. Good Luck!

      • Kimberly (Stylish Sidekick)

What a great idea, HBee! Love it! 🙂

    • Stacy

Momof7 I also use metal buckets and old tins. I find them at garage sales and flea markets for .5 cents to a $1 and I snatch them up knowing I will use them when the old ones rot out. Like others said, punch some holes in bottom for drainage and you have a unique planter. I actually just got done today from putting out my new tea tins I had got for .25 cents last few summers at garage sales! Put in a small annual and it’s a great gift too for someone who is into that eclectic taste. Good luck! I too hated spending money on pots that break or looks plastic like.

  8. Ren

    HBee : Love it!
I got some galvanized buckets (decent sized) for pretty cheap on amazon last year (<$4). you can dress it up with paint, fabric, anything you like.
Also check Lowes and HD clearance in the fall. A few years ago and I got huge pots for 3-5 bucks.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks a bunch for the helpful tips Ren! I’m still finishing up getting all my plants and flowers together for the spring / summer season. I will have to remember that!

  9. Paula

Does Home Depot give a guarantee on their plants?

    • Donna

They always have taken mine back when they didn’t make it but I don’t know about annuals.

    • Donna

I think it is year guarantee for regular plants.

  10. karen

Anyone w/luck buying lavendar? I always feel so overwhelmed going to buy plants…I have a major blk thumb:(

  11. Charlene

Theres a better price at Fred Meyer’s this week on annuals. They are $9.99 per flat. That’s 36 plants

  12. Charlene

Maybe all the Kroeger affiliate stores are doing same sale, I’m not sure. It’s the Founders Day sale at our Fred Meyer stores here in Oregon

  13. Charlene

Fred Meyer’s annual flats include Impatiens (shade flowers), petunias, (I won’t plant this in my yard anymore though, because I end up feeding the slugs and snails!) They have other annuals too.
And here’s a great tip for you guys fighting slugs and snails in the yard. I’ve tried it all: copper, coffee grinds, egg shells, hazelnuts shells: nothing gets rid of the snails!! I finally found flowers to plant they don’t eat and don’t like, so that’s what I plant in my yard. They don’t eat my impatiens; dianthus, carnations, phlox. They will have a heyday harvest on petunia, and hostas. I lost all my hostas , they ate them down to the ground and then they just died and dont’ jonlinee up anymore. I no longer buy snail bait either, as it is so expensive. Just stick with flowers they won’t eat, then you can rest assured. I even use to go snail picking in the evening to get rid of them, yuck!! Don’t do it anymore since they leave my flowers i discovered they don’t like.

  14. Charlene

And an extra bonus buying dianthus or phlox carnations, they onlinee back every year!! I plant dianthus in pots as well as in the ground, and they onlinee back every year. I just try to refresh the pots with adding more fresh potting soil, and I fertilize them all with miracle grow.

  15. Stacy

I saw in the post $4 gallon perennials but not in the ad. Is this a real sale? In store only?

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Stacy! It’s on the front page, and it actually says 3 for $12. Hope that helps!

  16. Darla

Mine says number one perennials two different kinds on sale but I don’t know what size are number one is. I have annuals 3 for 12 in the ad. I’m looking for more perennials on sale if anyone knows
