I like the app. Love the feature that I can set a time limit and walk away. My 5 yr old is happy with it.
We have freetime unlimited & I do think it’s worth it…but if you don’t like the cost, you can use freetime with your own apps (books and videos too) & still set time limits. There are tons of free apps, especially with the Underground section. And watch for free apps of the day.
My kids use the kindles with Freetime Unlimited on our car trips all the time. You just have to download whatever apps or books you want before leaving. After downloading, most of the apps don’t require WiFi to play them. I think you can download videos as well, but we haven’t tried that.
