This cake is an oldie but a goodie!
Meet the famous Sherry Poppy Seed Bundt Cake, recipe courtesy of my Aunt Lisa. It has been requested for generations of family gatherings over the years – birthdays, every holiday, and even dyed green for St. Patty’s Day!
It’s a moist cake that features a buttery sweet glaze that’s to die for! I love that it’s an easy boxed yellow cake with pudding mix, yet tastes like it onlinees from a fancy bakery. If you like rum cake, this is a little similar but uses a sweet Sherry wine.
Hip Tips:
-
- Cream Sherry wine is found with the sweet wines in the grocery store, and it’s what makes this cake taste special. Just buy the least expensive bottle. Don’t use cooking sherry, which is onlinepletely different.
-
- Prefer zero alcohol? Substitute the sherry with pineapple juice.
-
- I’ve served this cake with a simple powdered sugar dusting for a lighter coffee cake.
-
- I’ve also served this cake with a delicious butter/sherry glaze that makes it over the top amazing. It’s really fantastic and rich.
