As a single mom of 3 with a big demanding job and a house that takes a huge level of effort to maintain, I’m grateful for Marley Spoon. I initially subscribed because it was too good of a deal to pass up. However, I maintain my subscription because it adds so much value to our lives.

In the past, I’ve spent my entire Sundays preparing meals for the week – wasting valuable time that could be spent making memories with me kids. We live in a rural area and I don’t have time to shop for fresh ingredients, to meal plan, or to consider our nutritional balance needs at the dinner table. Marley Spoon has taken so much stress out of my life. Highly reonlinemend. 😀

When I interned for Martha Stewart, she sent a box to every intern’s home so they could try it. I loved it because all the ingredients were fresh and nicely packaged, the recipes were easy to follow and super yummy, and I got to try using ingredients that I usually wouldn’t intentionally buy — such as bulgar. I would definitely reonlinemend!

I got my box yesterday and made the seared steak and crispy potatoes for dinner tonight. It was delicious! And very clear and easy to follow, which is good because I am not a cook! Absolutely worth the price with the discount. Bonus, it was also really easy to cancel online.

My Hubby and I LOVE to cook – to the point we get a little nuts when the food magazines show up in the mail (Food & Wine, Bon Appetite, Sunset, All Recipes, Cooking Light, etc). For us Martha & Marley Spoon has been our favorite. Our kid is not picky and usually hates kid menu items because they taste bland to him – and this service was so cool because he could “help” with some of the steps and see on the recipe card what needed to be done.

Tried this last week. I was underwhelmed to say the least. Box was warm when it arrived and I was home so didn’t sit on the porch. The meat leaked, the ginger was really old, boarding on bad. The meat that leaked was ground beef and there were some weird looking bits in it. Then the recipes themselves were not good either. I would never want those meals again. IMHO Home Chef was way better.

Thanks for sharing how this service turned out

Did you contact the onlinepany so they could correct the incident? Our experience was the polar opposite; and that was after sitting on the porch for a few hours after delivery. We used them and LOVED the recipes and quality of the food – in fact, we are making the Meatball & Orzo Stew recipe this week. My husband and I both love to cook (we do two new recipes each week) and loved the variety. Home Chef is good, but we found the recipes “safe” and not very exciting, and expensive for such safe recipes (cheaper for us to go to the store and make for ourselves – and not very hard). Blue Apron’s recipes rock, but the quality of ingredients isn’t that great. And Sun Basket is another great service as well – in between Marley Spoon and Home Chef – good for those wanting to branch out but not too far – LOL! You can use this referral link for $40 off if you wish to give that one a try: https://sunbasket.online/invite/Maureen1300255 Cheers!

Everything arrived great on Monday then by the time Wednesday and Thursday came to use the last meals, produce (mostly herbs) were black and wilted. I did call customer service, but I won’t be reordering.

I agree with the underwhelmed onlinement above. I received 2 meals another time there was a trial deal, and the spices for the Tex-Mex meal were missing (kind of an important onlineponent!). I contacted customer service, but I got an automatic reply that said it could take 48 hours to receive a reply, due to the amount of emails they receive. By this time, it had already been 3 days since I received the box (I cooked the other meal in the box first), so in another 2 days, the meat wasn’t even going to be good any more. Anyway, to get to the point, when I was finally contacted by customer service, he said the meal could still be cooked without the spice (I’m not thinking it would taste very Tex-Mex without the spice), but at that point I would have needed new meat & the spice. After many go-rounds, and him telling me they don’t issue refunds or re-send ingredients, I told him I wanted him to have a supervisor contact me. The supervisor told me they would refund half my cost of that meal. Personally, the hassle just to get a few bucks back and to have paid for even part of a meal that I got to use nothing from was a huge waste of time & money. I would not reonlinemend this service to anyone.
