I’ve used zaycon about 5 times now. Picked up a chicken order today. Have had pretty good experiences with them up until today. The whole 40lbs of chicken has a real rough/rubbery texture. Really disappointed this time. And pickup was supposed to be yesterday and about 4 hours before pickup time they sent an email changing pickup to this morning. Super short notice!! The sticker on the box of chicken is from Wayne Farms in Georgia – hopefully I never get a box from them again.

We love zaycon but had the same experience a few years ago. Make sure to let them know about the rubbery chicken. They have great customer service.

    • Tiffany

I too had that same experience. It was from Wayne farms also. I wonder if you can request which farm you’d like it from?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh darn! Sorry to hear you were not pleased with the chicken included in your most recent shipment! Have you been able to contact customer service? Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

    • Lori

I had the same problem with the chicken i picked up from Zaycon last week. It was from Wayne Farms as well and was MUCH more waste than previous orders. The rubbery chicken pieces were kinda yellow. I took pictures and will contact Zaycon customer service today.

We just got 40lbs of chicken last week and it’s awesome. Definitely took a little time to package it up for the freezer but well worth the deal. I believe it came from Virginia.

I can’t find the link to the 80/20 ground beef for 40 lbs. The only thing I see is 40 lbs. in 1 lb frozen packages. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

    • K

That’s how the ground beef onlinees now.

    • stacyfh2s

Hi, Karen! That’s the right one. The beef is now packaged in 1lb packages. You’ll receive two 20lb cases, each contains 20 1lb quick-thaw frozen packages for easy storage and prep to fit into your busy schedule.

The soonest date is in July? Is that right? I can’t imagine meal planning that far ahead.

We just picked up our first Zaycon order this past week. The entire pickup process was super simple and quick. My husband didn’t even have to leave his car. The driver put our box of chicken in his trunk. It took my husband longer to drive to the location than to get our order (and he works across the street from the site!). I loved the price (99¢/LB) but I disliked the box-to-freezer process. I was not a fan of being elbow-deep in chicken juices 🤢. It did take longer to get ready for the freezer than I anticipated. My chicken breasts were “split breasts” but not onlinepletely so I had to cut most of them into two pieces before I went thru my freezing process. I would order again from Zaycon if the price is right. I’ll just know for next time that I’ll be spending an hour unboxing it all (and washing my hands 50 times!)

    • Elizabeth M.

Yeah, it was a little more time consuming than I anticipated. I spent a bit of time prepping my freezer bags and trimming the chicken and sealing into quantities for my family. Then dealing with disinfecting my kitchen cuz..chicken juice! But, the location and pick up was easy. The price was right and so far, we’ve enjoyed the quality.

Awesome prices! I just picked up chicken last week and it is DELICIOUS! I love buying in bulk, so this works great for us.

I’ve purchased a 40-pound box of chicken before. Our only freezer is the little one atop our refrigerator. I opted to can most of the chicken. If you have a pressure canner, consider putting in the work & canning what you buy instead of freezing all of it. If it’s canned, meal preparation is much quicker.
