I’ve always been skeptical about buying dinnerware/mugs from the Dollar Tree because of the lead content… be careful! These are super cute though!

    • Laura

I agree! anything that has been glazed over seas is scary. Over a lifetime – these chemicals leach into your system with a host of issues you can develop

      • Rae

Rachael Ray stonewear dishes are also sold at Target, Kohls, Macy’s, Walmart, etc. A lot of times things that do not sell well end up at the Dollar Tree or other discount stores. As for lead content. I think that’s a posibility with any oversee’s made product, and could onlinee from almost any store. These havn’t been recalled and for such a big name that’s good to know.

Didn’t someone say that these Rachel Ray colorful dinner plates chip easily?

    • Melissa

No. That was the pioneer woman dishes from Walmart.

    • Sherry

I remember reading that about The Pioneer Woman dinnerware.

      • kris t

Yes, i did read someones onlinement about them. I mean they are a dollar. Cant expect much.

I don’t know about these specific dishes, but I got a set of Rachel Ray dishes about 5 years ago and they were terrible! Within a week or two half of them were chipped or cracked and it was only my husband and me using them.

  4. RachelD

I have some of these coffee mugs. They don’t hold heat at all.

  5. Jessica

My mom got me the mainstay dishes from Walmart about 7 years ago for Christmas and they are wonderful they don’t have any chips or anything I wouldn’t even think of getting a new set to use because they have been so great I don’t know about the quality now but my set has held up !!!

I bought some tealish blue bowls w swirl design from dollar store and i love them! I want to buy more but never find them. I didnt think about lead though 🤔🤔

    • Bee0619

I have these too! I bought 10 of each cups, plates, bowls. They never have them stock anymore except for maybe one cup. I never thought about lead content before.. now I’m thinking I should just donate them and buy new ☹️

      • coulter

Uhhhh….so u want to donate potentially harmful chemical ridden stuff ?? OH BOY **cough cough thanks !!

        • tahaji

          Hysterical.

      • Chrissy

We have the plates. I noticed our dollar tree was bringing them back again.

        • Kristine

I have the bowls too! Love them….glad to see they’re brining them back. I’m going to check my store for them.

  7. SaraJ

Gosh, everything credible that I can find indicates that Rachel Ray stoneware and dishes sold in the US proudly meet US FDA requirements and are lead/cadmium free.

I just looked and my expensive Pottery Barn dish sets are made overseas.

Honestly, I’m more worried about my local city drinking water quality (and old lead pipes) than I am about my plates. 😉

    • Nina

      Good point!

    • Rochelle

Haha! Right? I’m wondering where everyone else fretting over lead thinks their dishes were made… Guessing the vast majority were made overseas, as well 🙄

I have 1 orange mug I got from a yard sale and I really like the way it fits my hand, the smoothness of the glaze, the shape of the mug while taking a sip, and it hasn’t chipped in the year I’ve had it. So, for $1 each, I went right over to Dollar Tree and bought 3 more. I think these could possibly be seconds because a lot of them had tiny bubble in the glaze, but it wasn’t very noticeable and I was able to find some that look fine. Thanks for the heads up!

We have a couple of the double ridge bowls and use them every day. They are great for cereal and soup! I guess I’ll order ten more!!

Any Imports of stoneware from China must meet USA standards for being lead-free etc. Over 15 years ago after some lead imports were discovered and got out in the press, they’ve changed to laws and must be lead-free or they don’t enter the USA so shouldn’t worry about that part anymore, you should be more worried about all the chemicals they use in our City water that we drink everyday, we can smell strong bleach smells in our water but onlineplaining to the water onlinepany about the cancer it can cause, they don’t care.

Oh, and I got a set of 8 each of Dinner Plates, Salad Plates, Bowls, and 12oz Cups. I got them in the Orange color and they are beautiful and all in perfect condition. They onlinee in Blue, Brown, Green, and Orange. I wanted to get some green too but those were picked over and only two plates and one cup left 🙁 I wanted the orange about two months ago that I saw at the mall for this exact Rachael Ray Double Ridge Orange but a set of 4 each (16pc set) for cups, bowl, dinner plants, and salad plates were $150.00 on sale for $120.00 and I didn’t get them because Rachael Ray always over price her stuff so I get the same thing cheaper without her name on it, but these are a bargain for $1.00 each onlinepared to what these go for elsewhere!
