Any deals on the large instapot?

Is this size good for a family of 4?

    • Kimberly Dang

I think a family of 4 would need at least a 6 qt, the 8qt is even better!

      • Jennlk84

        Thank you!

    • 50ShadesofLipstick

The 6 qt is perfect for a family of 4. Accessories are a lot easier to find for that size than the 8 quart, so that is what I went with. I cook in bulk often for my family of 4 and it’s never been too small!

      • Jennlk84

        Good to know, thanks!!

This Instant pot is a large size but the the actual pot is small so the counter space taken by the equipment is rather too much for the size of the vessel one can cook in.

Is this good size for me and my husband and our 3 year old?

    • KGD

Since you’ll likely use the instant pot for years to onlinee, I think I’d go with the 6qt- 3 year olds grow… and get hungrier 😁

Does anyone have thoughts on these, good or bad? What do you like to use it for the most?

The seems like a great choice overall for a smaller family. There’s a great review online that covers everything about it. It basically uses less electricity and is more efficient overall cooking time wise and makes a good amount of food for 2-4 people. Also takes less counter space if that’s a concern. N price can’t beat.

3 quart is tiny tiny. Great for 1 maybe 2 people. I am a family of 7 and cook with (2) 8 qt frequently. 8 quarts and do whole birds. You can always make less in an 8 qt. You can never make more in a 3, 5 , or 6. Best, top of the line pressure cooker out there. Amazing customer service. You will hate that you waited. Start with the 6 minimum if a family of 2. If you can afford the 8, we always reonlinemend the 8 first.

    • 50ShadesofLipstick

You can make a whole chicken in the 6 qt. as well.

Thank you for sharing this and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you and yours <3

I had been hoping the 6 Qt would onlinee down to around $50 as we got closer to Christmas. Now that I see this smaller one, I'm wondering if I should get it. I'm older, in a wheelchair and really have to struggle to lift my 6 Qt crock-pot… just the insert. This 3 Qt might save me a lot of aches and pains from trying to lift too much weight.

I just picked this up. I have the 6 and the 8. My 6 has died on me. I decided to get this mini vs another 6. I tend to make rice, oatmeal and other sides. This is about 30% smaller and so for what I’d use it for, it’s the perfect size. (We are a family of 4.) One of the reviews said she got 8 cups of soup made and was able to cook 4.5 cups of dry rice in it. I will continue to use my 8 for bigger meals, but look forward to a smaller pot for everything else. And taking up less space on the counter!

Is the inner pot ceramic or nonstick? I just ordered one from Best Buy that I will be returning because it is Teflon/nonstick.

    • Andrea

It’s stainless steel with no coating 👍🏻
