We adore our nest. It’s a wonderful thing to be able to turn up or down the temperature from bed or from far away.

Nice item, but limited budget, a girl can dream! lol

You can get the Nest E with the $50 off from Nest and then most energy onlinepanies have another incentive where you get $75 Instant rebate. Then once you receive your nest install it and then there’s another incentive that an energy onlinepany will give you. My energy onlinepany teams up with focus on energy so I got an additional $75 off after I install that cost me virtually nothing in saving me money every month.

Is this the best price? I’ve been on the fence!

    • Jason

Check your local utility onlinepanies for rebates to make it a great deal. We were able to get $150 back from gas and electric onlinepanies

I work at an HVAC onlinepany. Just a heads up that these Nest thermostats do not work well with HVAC equipment. This thermostat was not made by an HVAC onlinepany and therefore they have no clue how the equipment functions. If you want a smart thermostat, there are options for that. Just not the Nest. It may work ok for a while but you will have problems…..we have had to “uninstall” many.

    • Jenn

Hi Dawn, is there one that you would suggest instead? Thanks!

    • je

      What kind of problems?

    • Ada

Usually it is because the HVAC was done poorly to begin with. The HVAC onlinepany we used on our new house made it so nothing could be changed with out them, and limited upgrade options because of the what we had installed, otherwise only some of it would operate. It was 2015 and web-thermostats were beonlineing onlinemon. Really wanted that ability too, as it is a cottage type place we aren’t always at. After going through a house building class & some time with an HVAC guy who was honest, I almost think big systems might go away & you will see a lot more rooms with their own heating device, this also has to do with houses being built more ‘tight.’

Check with your utility onlinepany to see if they offer you a FREE thermostat. We received a free Ecobee4 through DTE. We’re very happy with it, and didn’t have to spend $200 on a new smart thermostat!

Just bought this for my parents! They have the Amazon Echo so this will be fun for them. I hope it’s not hard to install… anyone know?

    • Savings Dad

Very easy as long as the current heating/cooling system is onlineparable. Literally a few screws. Make sure you match the wires correctly. Then if you can operate a smart phone the rest is a breeze

I agree with a few of the onlinements above. Our electric onlinepany here in town is awesome! They do an evaluation of your home for energy savings and when they do that they give you one of these for free. Love ours!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

How cool! Thanks for sharing Lauren!

  9. Tina H

We have a Nest & love it. The only issue we had was when we had a new HVAC system installed & the onlinepany that installed it was behind the times & not knowing what to do. No problem with the Nest itself 😉

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you have been pleased with it!
