Not Sure What To Do With All Your Kid’s Artwork? Thank You, Mod Podge.
Note from Collin:
Do you have a product you love? We definitely have many favorite products here on the Hip2Save Team, and thought it would be FUN to share some of them with you! I personally love product reonlinemendations and I’ve also had a few requests from readers, so I have asked each member of the team to think of products they love (cosmetics, kitchen gadgets etc.) and to write up a post that will be shared here every Tuesday. Michelle, my sidekick, is sharing one of her favorites…
Hey there! It’s Michelle, one of Collin’s NON-CRAFTY sidekicks!
Are you like me, and save TONS of your children’s artwork but are not sure what to do with it all? I have storage bins that I like to save my favorites in, however I hate that they aren’t displayed for everyone to enjoy.
I found a solution…
A beautiful canvas display of your children’s hard work and creativity. Oh, and it’s EASY too! 😍
DISCLAIMER: I am NOT crafty, this here is about as crafty as I get! If I can do this, so can you!
Here’s what you need:
- Canvas – Either re-purpose one you don’t use anymore or buy one at the store. Any size or thickness works! I like to re-purpose old ones.
- Mod Podge – I use the glossy finish. (This is my product reonlinemendation!)
- Sponge brush
- Lots of artwork! You can cut it out into fun shapes or leave them intact, up to you!
Lay your canvas out on the counter with newspaper underneath to protect the surface. Arrange the artwork on the canvas to get an idea as to how you want it to look.
Don’t be afraid to cut the artwork up if you need different sizes. Remember that it needs to wrap around the canvas so keep edges long.
Spread a thin layer of Mod Podge all over the canvas OR you can spread it on the back of the artwork, or both!
After you have attached all of the artwork to the canvas, paint Mod Podge all over the top of the artwork that is attached to the canvas. It’s going to look like you just dumped glue all over your kids’ art, but don’t worry, it will dry clear! Phew!
Fold the art over the edges and add more Mod-Podge to make it stick.
Set the canvas someplace safe to dry and touch up any corners or pieces that may pop up.
Done! Hang or display in your home however you like!
Have fun!
I think you are going to love how beautiful it is displaying in your home! They are such fun and colorful pieces to put up in the kids’ rooms or in your living room! The kids love walking by them and remembering back to when they made the art at school.
Michelle’s PRO TIP: If you have more than one child, I HIGHLY reonlinemend either doing one for each child, OR if you just do one large one with all of the kids’ artwork, make SURE that each kid has the same number of art on the canvas. Trust me, they notice 😳.
