My sister used this on my daughter yesterday. It ate her hair and wouldn’t give it back! We had to cut her hair! 😱

Oh no. My girls have one. They have shoulder length hair we haven’t had any problems. However, the curls are not pretty. They don’t like it

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh no!! So sorry to hear you had to cut her hair from it 🙁 Thanks much for sharing your experience!

You have to use SMALL sections of hair with this. If you don’t it tangles up and you basically have to rip it out. While I do own one, and love the way it curls, only use SMALL sections at a time.

Thanks for the helpful tip Ris! Good to know!

I can picture me tangling and having to cut my hair if I bought this.. as much as I’d love to buy one especially since my hair is halfway down my back

Thanks everyone for your input! I was going to buy one, but not after reading your onlinements. I have a lot of thick, straight hair that I have curled EVERY. DAY. for the last 18 years for volume. It is a lot of work but it looks so good that I often have strangers onlinepliment me on how gorgeous my hair is. Oddly enough, I have no heat damage and my hair looks shinier after curling than it does straight (my hair gets greasy if I don’t wash it every day, so I think my scalp produces a lot of oils that naturally protect my hair). Anyway, I am not about to pay money for a gadget that will take my hair and not give it back to me!

We have the Babyliss Miracurl version of this which is much more expense ($169). We love it. It does take time to figure out using small sections, but it works great. Hair occasionally gets tangled if a stray hair gets in there. If you try for too much hair is automatically stops. It’s fantastic for hard to curl children’s hair.

  6. Amy

I’ve had one for a couple of years and only used it a handful of times. My hair is really thick and used to be pretty long, so it took forever to do! I did like the curls, and with my hair type/texture, they stayed, but I didn’t have the patience for the whole process. The last time I used it, it did eat a section of my hair and I freaked out because I was afraid it would burn up inside the machine! Def worth a try for this low price, though.

  7. Sophie

My daughter has one, and we both use it. You need to use small sections and be sure to hold the curler in the right direction. Then you won’t have any problem with hair getting tangled. It makes pretty curls, and I can do my whole head in a matter of a 5-10 minutes. I love it!

  8. Erica

I just bought one this past week. I have hair down to the middle of my back. Lots of hair. It took a few min to figure it out, but works great! My hair is hard to curl, but I got the first day with lots of curl and day 2 was nice waves ☺️

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Good to know it has worked well on your hair Erica! Thanks for the feedback!
