   I saw these at Walmart a few weeks ago and wanted one instantly. I decided to wait and hope Santa might bring me one for Christmas. But at this price, who needs Santa? 😉

   I love my Lodge skillets. My hematologist told me that this would be a great way to get some iron into my diet so I’ve been cooking with a lot of cast iron and eating a lot of iron rich foods 🙂 Thanks Collin

  Yes, Magda. They work on gas or electric. I actually use mine on my electric flat-top stove. I just try to be very careful not to drop them, (they’re heavy), and I don’t slide them on the surface. (Also was sure to check the bottoms for any rough spots and sanded them off if necessary before first use).

  They also work perfectly on the grill outside, if you have heavy duty grippers to protect your hands from their screaming heat. The flat griddle makes a beautiful fathead pizza crust on the grill!

  Are you talking about the bottom of inside the pan? Mine came that way and it drives me nuts! I’ve never had a preseasoned iron skillet before so figured it had something to with the coating. Never thought to sand it down. I take it that won’t hurt it any?

  Thanks, Jac! I had these in my cart as individual items (Lodge brand) and even tho these appear to be off brand, only 8 onlinements, they were highly rated. So I deleted the others and got these. Glad I waited!
