Thank you for posting! I’ve been waiting for a deal on this camera. Anyone who owns one — what is the best age for this gift 6 and older? I’m trying to decide if I should get this gift for both of my kids!

    • Denise

Hi Jackie! I gave my son one for his 7th birthday and it was just the right age for him. However, I think a mature 6 year old might be fine with it. The biggest issue (for us anyway) was needing him to treat it gently (which he could have at 6) and understanding that the film supply is limited so you need to not take 15 pictures in a row of the same thing. He could not have rationed himself well at 6, but I feel sure some other children could. FYI, he really loves it. It was a great gift.

Thank you, Denise! Great feedback. I was thinking of buying one for my 9-year-old, but I don’t want my 6-year-old to feel left out! I agree – gentleness is key!

        • Denise

Definitely understand! That’s always hard. My daughter is almost 5, and I already feel sure she would be able to handle it at 6. Depends on the kid. Maybe a different awesome present for your 6 year old would be better though. Good luck. 🙂

Thanks so much for your helpful feedback!

Keep in mind film is expensive. my 10 year old niece went through a 10 pack of film in 5 minutes taking pictures of random things…

    • Jackie

Oh, thanks for the warning/tip! That is definitely something to keep in mind!

Thanks so much for the honest feedback! Good to know!

Is this a good price or is it best to wait for Black Friday sales?

  4. Jennifer

My kids love theirs but, as others have mentioned, the film is pricey. I have heard you can get the best price at Michael’s with a coupon but I can’t verify this because I don’t have a Michael’s in my area. My 5 and 8 year old both use it and love it. Sometimes a picture is onlinepletely black but only occasionally.

Thanks for the helpful review Jennifer!

I always get my film’s at Michael’s. I usually use the 50% or the 60% coupon.

I just bought one of these for Costco if I remember correctly they were $49.00 and a 60 pack of film was 30 something I think $34…my Costco had blue and white…
