  This one is more because it has the lower anchor attachments to prevent it beonlineing a projectile in a crash when nobody is sitting in it. If your booster doesnt have lower anchors, it should be buckled in when not in use. 🙂

   My husband and I are at odds as to when to change our kids over from a car seat with 4 point harness to a booster seat. My kids are 6 (45lbs) and 4 (42lbs). They are both just over the 40lb limit so they can be moved over, I just feel more onlinefortable having them in their car seats. We have the safety first alpha omega, so they can be changed over that they still sit in there “car seat” you would just remove the 4 point harness and use a regular car buckle. Any tips on this. Should I move my 6 year old over? My 4 year old is a boy and can’t sit still to save his life, so right now he will just stay in the car seat

  We just bought the graco nautilus 65 5 point booster for my 4 year old boy who is 42″ and 37 lbs. we love it and won’t have to buy another seat again. I think your six yr old could still fit a 5 point harness booster but not for much longer. You could save some money and just get a high back booster (if that isn’t what you are using). I found a great deal on jet.online on the nautilus – 15% off as a new customer, the Seat was $119 in the gray color and ebates had cash back. So about $100 each.

  My motto is to make decisions based on your onlinefort level and what you can live with. Just because a child can be moved up, doesn’t mean they have to be.
  But I am definitely on the “better safe than sorry” side. I keep my kids in the safest car seat as long as possible (within the seat limits). My 7 year old is in a back booster, my 9 year old is in a backless booster, and my 11 year old still isn’t allowed in the front seat (all boys). Personally, I couldn’t live with myself if we got into an accident and they were hurt, knowing I might have been able to prevent it “if I had only….”.
  My sister is the opposite, but she’s not the worrier that I am. ☺

  My sons 4 and I plan to keep him in his car seat until 5 or 6 (ideally 6) and then move him into a booster. I agree with the better safe than sorry motto. But I can see how changing only your 6 year old over may cause conflict.
