   Does this mean that non-Amazon family prime members can receive the 20% discount if they have 5 subscriptions? I have a student prime membership and haven’t been able to qualify for the 20% off diapers.

   I’m going to start taking advantage of those target gift card deals on baby items. The $25/$100 one actually makes the diapers cheaper than Amazon, but I liked not having to go in store.

  You can order diapers online from Target and still get the gift card deals, so you still don’t need to go into a store! I do it all the time.

   Well, I had gotten prime to buy diapers for my brother and sister in law who had twins.
   This was an easy way to save a bunch, but if now requires 5 subscriptions then it won’t make it worth it.
   I have also noticed they don’t do hot pricing on diapers like they used to.

   I stitched to buying diapers from Target to Amazon for this… I just have to remember to buy 5 diapers subscriptions in one month I guess (which usually isn’t a problem because I stockpile)… I have three in diapers so if shouldn’t be a big deal. Annoying though

  You just need 5 subscriptions total. You can have 5 diaper ones but there’s tons to subscribe to and something’s are super cheap subscriptions. This month I subscribed to diapers, tide purclean, cascade, coffee, razors, glade, honest conditioner, and pull ups. After 5 subscriptions you all get 15% off instead of the regular 5%

   Very disappointing 🙁 It does look like the diapers I currently subscribe to are still at a 20% discount, but when I click to cancel the subscription there is a warning that doing that may result in not receiving the same discount for subscriptions in the future. So, if you already have a subscription at 20% off you may still get it. My question is, can you clip coupons to go with current subscriptions?

  No. Coupons don’t apply to current subscriptions. Just new ones.

   Even with two in diapers I’ve never ordered more than two diaper subscriptions in a month. Can’t afford five at once for sure. Bye bye Prime.

  You can mix and match between household items, pet items, paper items, diapers, etc. There’s lots of cheap deals you can do in order to get the 20% off of diapers. I remember when they took wipes off of 20% altogether. It was a bummer, but I’ve been with Amazon Prime for almost 10 years and it’s worth it to me because I’m far from stores, and it’s still a good deal for me price wise and gas savings.

   So it looks like it doesn’t have to be 5 baby items/diapers. I have 2 baby items, 2 diapers, and various other non-baby items and I’m getting 15% off the non-baby items and 20% off the baby items.

  Wow! I struggle to onlinee up with 5 things/month (to get the extra 15%). Is having it shipped to you your biggest reason for S/S? I will only S/S if I think the item is same price or cheaper than from a store. No judging from me, if cost isn’t an issue (I know for some getting to the store is hard or far away or whatever)…..I live in a metro area so, S/S has to be for price for me. Just curious?

  I usually only buy if it’s cheaper than in store, too. I buy my grandma her dogs wet dog food monthly on S&S and it always seems to be cheaper there than in store, so that’s 3 subscriptions per month, then I only need 2 more, so that’s pretty doable for me.

  We do live farther from stores, but they are 15-45 minutes away, but I work 45 minutes away, too. Sometimes I just don’t feel like going to the store or couponing, and it’s just very convenient for my Amazon package to arrive at the house. I’m almost 37 weeks pregnant with our 3rd baby, and we will have 3 under 5 years old, so there’s that, too.

    This may be enough to cancel my prime and go with target. Very disappointed! Their deals seem to not be as good recently anyway and I have had to switch many of my subscribe and save items so I probably won’t be able to make it five. What a bummer!!!!

    Just keep following hip2save and look out for cheap s&s deals. Mine just came yesterday for this month and it was about $15 for 5 things I actually use. One of the items was 97 cents. It’s quite easy to do 5 things including diapers.

  I agree! There are so many cheap S&S deals that are totally worth it over Target IMO. You have to spend $35 at target now. Not worth it to me. I am sticking with Prime.

    Bummer! Guess they figured a work around for us that only subscribe to one or two items when its a great deal and then cancel the subscription. But honestly, i love prime too much to cancel just because of that! Just means i may be getting more diapers from CVS or somewhere else if i cant get them on amazon at my stock up price.

  We love our prime too! I don’t normally hit 5 s/s items a month, but I buy so much from amazon because they are so cheap and having free shipping, especially free 2 day is amazing. We do most of our Christmas shopping on amazon.

    Won’t be a problem for us. It’s not like you have to have 5 diaper/baby food subscriptions. We subscribe a lot of things from Amazon, from coffee beans to household products.

    Aww man! So curious for those that subscribe to other things, what are the better deals out there? I don’t mind adding a laundry soap, dish tablets, etc IF it is something we use. We have a 9 month old so we go through plenty of diapers and wipes, but we also have quite the stock pile from all the deals. I will still keep my prime bc I use it for other stuff, just want to make the most of all the deals.

    For the 20%, does that mean I have to do all my subscriptions at one time? Like go on right now and subscribe to diapers, wipes, formula, laundry tabs and dishwasher tabs AND all arrive same day? Or could I choose one today, one tomorrow, etc?

  I look for S&S deals, I rarely keep the same things delivering as I just don’t need them that often and would rather clip a coupon when it’s available and get a different brand. Then I plan and some months don’t have any active subscriptions. I get these things on sale when they onlinee up: protein, vitamins, supplements, dish tabs, garbage bags, diapers, baby wipes… Just FYI, you can get Knorr cube bouillon or other small items for like .67 to hit your 5 items and it will usually still save you money by hitting the 15 or 20% off mark all the other items in the cart.

    It’s super easy to find other worthwhile subscriptions. I typically buy deodorant or toothpaste that’s under $2 if I need an additional subscription to get the higher percentage off.

    My husband likes the bai drinks and pact and amazon is way cheaper than other stores since i buy 12 packs. Degree deodorant, fruit snacks, vitamins, good nites, peanuts, various lunch items for my kids.

  ??? They are a for profit business, not a charity, for heaven’s sake! As customers we have a choice to buy or not. I am sure they have “run the numbers” and feel like they will still onlinee out ahead, even if they lose some customers.

    I only buy diapers when they have a great coupon – I usually buy at CVS (pick any drug store) when they have a sale and ECB and I have coupons, I can get them cheaper per diaper than Amazon’s 20%. But regardless, it’s very easy to hit 5 S&S – I can hit that just watching the deals on this site lol! I cancel almost everything after it ships and wait for another deal, but my staples are baby food pouches, wipes, toilet paper, granola bars, medicines, etc. If I’m getting close to the deadline I’ll check the coupons and can usually find an inexpensive food item to add. I’ve saved way more than the $99/year cost especially when I factor in the convenience!

    I noticed this change too when I placed a diaper s&s yesterday. I was mad that Amazon didn’t even notify members. Nor could you find any policy change statement on their website.

    It’s really not that hard to get five subscription items in a month!

    Just the deals posted on here alone would have you well over that if you take advantage of them. Lots of times, I’ll grab a deal that’s posted and then cancel after the first delivery that I’ve gotten extra savings on with a coupon. For example, right now I’ve got a multi pack of Gatorade that I’ll be paying about $2 for after all discounts for my first delivery. I’ll cancel it before the second one onlinees at regular price.

    I also use Amazon for paper goods (toilet tissue, facial tissue, paper towels) and things like trash bags, dishwasher tabs, ice melt in the winter, etc. things I can buy in bulk for less and not have to cart home from the store!
