I am considering purchasing these for my parents for part of a Christmas gift. Has anyone used this before? Do these get you into presidential libraries as well? Looking for a list of places that are included.

    • mamasweetpea08

the link in the post gives people an idea on the types of sites. It allows access to many national parks and monuments. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen any libraries listed. America the Beautiful is a “National Parks and Recreational Lands Pass”

    • Lo

Couldnt find an answer other than to call the place directly and ask.

      • Deb

If you are buying these as a surprise holiday gift, you should know that you have to provide proof of age during checkout. So, unless you can easily get ahold of their passports or drivers licenses to scan and photocopy, you might have a problem.

  2. Magnolia

Keep in mind this doesn’t include state parks! My dad got burned on that one.

    • Judy

Hard to get burned when the pass is only $10 for lifwe for federal parks. Iget what you are saying but it’s still really a great deal.

    • Jennifer

It’s a “federal park” pass, so, of course it’s not a state pass.

  3. Deb

I can’t answer your question, but if you are thinking of getting the passes as a surprise Christmas gift, just know that you have to provide proof of age eligibility at the end of the application process, such as a copy of the applicant’s drivers license (which you probably don’t have).

Thanks for posting again. I thought the deadline was July and that I had missed it.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  6. Cheryl

Thanks for everyone’s onlinements. I appreciate the info.

  7. Jane

This senior lifetime pass is VERY useful especially for my family. Both my grandparents got it.. we have 9 people in our family including them. Each pass covers a car’s admission and parking, so it saves a lot of money! Definitely consider getting it if you are of age or know someone in your family who is!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! Thanks for the great feedback Jane!

  8. Lori

I got mine the day I turned 62. It also cover up to 3 guests entrance fees. For instance, I live near a national monument that I use as a hiking trail. There is not an auto check point. You just park in the parking lot and go into the visitor center to gain access to the monument. Can take 3 other people with me for free. There s no downside and simple process to obtain the pass.

    • Eileen

So would my parents really only need one?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Thanks so much for sharing your experience Lori!

  9. Lk

Used ours at Civil War battlefields, Carlsbad Caverns, and Grand Canyon. Pass includes passengers in your car – my son, his wife , my husband and I all got in free at Grand Canyon.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      That’s awesome!

Rats….my DH turns 62 in Nov. Wish the cutoff date was end of year. Thanks for info!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW!

  11. Amanda

We have the National Parks Access pass for my son with Autism. It is also a lifetime pass and is free. You have to show proof of a permanent disability, many state parks offer it as well.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful feedback Amanda!

  12. Donna in VA

thanks so much for posting this. I send hubby over to the nearest national park today and he got his card for $10 (no processing fee) after about a 10 minute wait. So for $10 we get into the parks for free for the rest of his lifetime – what a great deal!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! You’re so welonlinee! 🙂

  13. Vickie

Thank you Collin! My hubby and I drove over to a nearby town and I got one and he got one for disability ( free). I had a wonderful day! Thank you again!!!

  14. Vickie

Collin,It’s the little things in life that can make such a difference. You are taking these “little” things and making them “big” for us! Thanks again for all your hard work!!!

  15. Sue

I got ID not confirmed. I have to go to a park to apply or I have apply thru the US Geological Survey website. The website is backed up and said if they don’t get to my application by deadline I am subject to new fees. I have lived at the same place for 42 years they can’t verify me. That stinks.
