As I mentioned earlier this morning, Amazon will be hosting Prime Day on July 11th this year BUT many hot offers are available NOW!

One of my favorite offers is a FREE $10 Amazon credit when you stream Prime Video for the first time. To grab this deal, Prime members just sign into Amazon Video on any eligible device (Fire TV, Fire TV stick, streaming media players, smart TVs, Blu-ray players, TIVO, and game consoles like Xbox or Playstation are all eligible), stream a movie or show included with Prime, and score a $10 Amazon.online credit applied directly to your account within 3-4 business days!

To be eligible for this offer, you must stream a Prime video for the first time via an Eligible Device. Prime videos do not include videos you have purchased or rented, or videos streamed through an Amazon Channels subscription such as HBO, Showtime, or Starz.

Ok is this if you stream for the first time ever, or for the first time from a specific device?

I got an offer of $10 bonus for reloading $100 gift card. Not sure if offer is for selected customers, though.

  8. nicole johnson

does anyone know if multiple people in a household can do this? Like if I have an account and stream through my smartTV and my husband uses his account and streams through our chromecast?

    • Evan

      I will try that tonight.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Here is what I found in the details: “Credit limited to one per customer and account”. Hope this helps!

  9. aybaibaiiii

where do credits show in your account? I just got a prime membership. thanky ou!

    • Evan

I always found it hard to find credits on their website.. you can always call or email them.

    • Karen

It actually says you won’t see the credit, but it will show up on the receipt of whatever you purchase with it,

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! The details list that the credit will be available withing 3-4 days, but it will not be visible in your account. The credit will automatically apply to your next purchase of items sold and fulfilled by Amazon. Hope this helps!

  10. Charlene

Okay…I don’t know anything about streaming. I only have a Galaxy S7 phone. Is this considered a streaming device? (I did see the list but I don’t know what most of those items are.)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes! You can stream from an Android phone, however it will not count for this promotion.

      • Ruthie

You can stream video on a phone, but it will not count towards this promotion: “Any stream on a cell phone, tablet, or onlineputer will not count toward onlinepleting this step. Streams via screen mirroring (e.g. connecting a cell phone, tablet or onlineputer to a television) will also not be counted.”

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful feedback Ruthie! Good to know!

    • Chris

Although you can stream videos from Amazon on your phone, it looks like the credit will only apply if you stream from a TV. From the details: “Eligible Devices: Fire TV, Fire TV stick, streaming media players (such as Roku), smart TVs, Blu-ray players, TIVO, and game consoles (such as Xbox or Playstation)”.

Later when listing the steps to get the $10 credit, under step 3 it says: “Stream a Prime video included with your Prime membership on your registered Eligible Device. Videos included with your Prime membership are either labeled as “Prime” or included in a carousel labeled as “Prime.” Any stream on a cell phone, tablet, or onlineputer will not count toward onlinepleting this step. Streams via screen mirroring (e.g. connecting a cell phone, tablet or onlineputer to a television) will also not be counted.”

So it looks like you’ll need to stream either through the apps on a Smart TV or Blu-Ray (I know when I had older versions of these they didn’t have the Amazon app, but my newer ones do) or another device connected to your TV that will run the Amazon video app like a Roku or an XBox. They explicitly state that streaming through a phone, tablet or onlineputer won’t count.

I’d imagine that it won’t work either through Chromecast or Apple TV since both of these are essentially using some type of mirroring/airplay from your phone/tablet/onlineputer. (Although it looks like an Amazon Video app will be available sometime this year for Apple TV… if it’s released before then it would probably work…) But maybe the only way to know for sure is to try it and see if you get the credit. 🙂

  11. Karen

I don’t understand because it doesn’t show anywhere about the 10 dollars where do I check for it ? Or should I call them

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi Karen! I still find the offer available as I click through the link above. The details list that it will be available within 3-4 days and will NOT be visible in your account, however it will apply automatically to your next purchase of any item sold or fulfilled by Amazon. Hope this helps!

  12. Cleob

The $10 credit expires at 11:59 PM PT on July 11 and will not be valid after Prime Day.

  13. Micah Tyler

On the device list it says that the video prime app counts as a device so if you are streaming with your phone you should be okay as long as you have the app installed and the device added to your amazon prime account.

    • Micah Tyler

becouase I have my Xiaomi Mi Box with amazon video installed on it. And watched a few movies with my new account.
