diy housewarming gift idea

This is such a fun little DIY gift idea! So adorable and EASY!

There’s probably a few ways you could fold them and even incorporate different items like placemats, napkins, and tea towels. Maybe even a small kitchen timer clipped to the middle would be neat.

Next time you spot some cute dish towels on clearance or at the dollar store keep this idea in mind! 😊

Just buy a gift from tjmaxx or homegoods or ross. Instead of giving someone cheap stuff from dollar stores.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Tjmaxx has some cute towels and kitchen items to make this as well. Doesn’t have to be dollar store. Just a fun way to gift these items is all 😀

    • Diana

      Wow, ur rude.

      • Laurie

Can lways catch more flies with honey!!

        • Pam

Catch more bees with honey. Why would you want to catch flys? Lol

    • Steph

My city doesn’t have any of those three stores, but does have a dollar tree. I appreciate Hip2Save posting cute and creative gift ideas that can easily be made with inexpensive items

      • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

        Thanks Steph! 👍

    • Vanessa

Some dollar stores actually have about the same quality utensils at tjmaxx too. Just because it’s a dollar doesn’t mean it’s necessarily cheap! I have $1 utensils that’s are still holding up nicely!

    • Kareena

It’s just not many people will appreciate the gift especially a close friend , back to reality.they think that’s how much they worth.

      • Shari

Wow. You need a better class of friends. Anyone i know would never ask me where i bought it or how much i paid. They would only know i gave them a gift

    • Kym

As a preschool teacher I would have rather had this then junk form tjx
Tjx stuff goes right to the church white elephant sale table

  4. Heather C

    Oh, SUPER CUTE!

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

  5. Beth

Yes! Love that idea! Thanks Beth 😀

  6. krista

I did a dollar store gift set for a friend for her first apartment. We are now well into our thirties and she still has and uses a couple of items.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Thanks for sharing Krista!

  7. zahra

I did some door prizes for national environmental health association basically bunch of health inspectors i did a similar set they loved it. This is a great idea love it.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Awesome – thanks Zahra

  8. jaci

    Any baby showering ideas?

    • Maria

Hi Jaci, I did a baby announcement party for my son. It was Ahoy Party. I ordered party favors directly from China (aliexpress.online). It takes about one month to arrive but the items are so cheap. I personally hate presenting cheap stuff for ppl. But the set is cute itself. If somebody want to present cute gifts just google for joseph joseph items. OMG, they are the best gifts for Housewarming. I presented a cutting board for a friend, and presented carousel cutlery set for another friend, they absolutely love it!

  9. Mel

Cute idea! Could throw a (or a few) Bath & Body Works kitchen hand soaps in there too!

  10. Mourrene

What a cute idea. Gift giving gets so expensive. I love giving but have to definitely stretch my budget sometimes to aconlinemodate all of the birthdays, anniversaries, showers, and other events–not to mention Christmas so I think these would be really cute for an inexpensive housewarming gift. I’d throw in a gift card and call this baby done!

  11. Heidi

    Super cute! Thanks for sharing!!

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Thanks for stopping by Heidi 😀

Thank you Lina- you always have great ideas and great instructions!
Dollar Tree vendors are many of the same as Marshall’s, TJ Maxx andHomegoods. Dollar Tree has re-merchandised and resourced many products so they are more upscale than they used to be. $1.00
FYI- I bought the same mylar balloon of a birthday cupcake for $1.00 that Party City had for $5.95.
Just a heads up, I needed a dozen balloons for a party 4 hours away from home, I didn’t want to drive all that way with the balloons bopping around. I bought the balloons locally at Dollar Tree and had them filled up at a Dollar Tree 10 minutes from the party. They told me people do it all the time. Just show them your receipt and call ahead and make sure they have enough helium.
I was able to get exactly which balloons I wanted and didn’t have to worry they would not have them at the destination store.

Great ideas! I need some ideas for graduation parties ( not the laundry one) – my daughter has been invited to 5 so far and it gets very expensive. Thanks!

    • Suzanne H

Last year I helped my friend put together gifts for all of her son’s friends that were graduating (he could take to all of their parties). We designed a cute Hershey bar wrapper using the school colors, the graduation year, etc. She tucked a $5 – $15 gift card (depending upon how close of friends they were) in the wrapper around the candy bar. She bought gift cards at Costco (iTunes) to get a discount. She also bought a Starbucks gift card off of a discount site then used it to buy the smaller ($5 – $10) cards.

  14. Traci

Have a wedding onlineing up and this a cute idea !!!! Will look nice with other items I purchased and this is a craft I should hopefully be able to do! Thank you

  15. Karri

Love this idea, do you have some good ideas for graduation gifts besides cash way to many this year and farming expenses are really eating at the budget right now. Thanks

  16. Kellee Smith

I’m totally doing this for the mothers who go unnoticed and unappreciated in my onlinemunity. The gift itself is cute, affordable, and classy enough to make a woman tear up for just the thought. I’m heading to Dollar Tree this weekend. Keep posting and I’ll keep praying the best for what you are doing. 😉

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Awesome! Have fun 👍🏻

  17. CW

  20. Mona

On Social Security so not able to spend with some of the high rollers making caustic onlinements. Love these creative ideas as I don’t seem able to onlinee up with such neat arrangements. I will definitely make use of this post and thanks a million.

  21. Allison

This would be so cute for a cheap housewarming gift! Thanks for sharing!

    • Lina D

      Oh you’re welonlinee 😊

  22. Shevylle Lewis

Maybe instead of using the word “cheap” use “inexpensive “! I was taught it’s the thought that counts…giving or receiving!!

  23. Inga

Great idea!. Just purchased the items and will make something similar for our Christmas family gathering and gift exchange. We are a large family and gifts can get expensive. We actually have the $20 Dollar Tree Gift Challenge we are doing this year, so this was perfect! Thank you 🙂 We are a family that LOVES home made and crafty. It’s not about giving “cheap” gifts. We all appreciate the effort and creativity that each family unit will bring to the table. OAN: I work with people that are on low fixed inonlinees and showed the idea to a couple people and I will now be helping them make the kitchen set for their family. Again, thanks 🙂 Blessings to you and your family this holiday.

    • Lina D

      Merry Christmas! Thanks for sharing.

  24. Amy Georgiades

I am totally going to do this for my coworkers. I will probably add some fun lotions, antibacterial soaps, or chopsticks to give it a bit more. Cant wait to get started. Very creative idea!

  26. Anna Young

Thank you so much for these gift ideas. I am a teacher and would actually love to get a gift like this. I also work with a lot of women who would love to get these as gifts. Thank you again for such a wonderful gift idea.
