   …needing other ideas for boys’ toys that I can donate to local charity… hesitant to buy this, as I don’t know the ethnicity of the girls who’d receive it… hate that most of the Barbies that are on sale are so generic…

  I think a little girl in need would be happy to get a Barbie or any toy regardless of ethnicity. They just want to have fun,play, and have a happy holiday like other little kids.

  I agree, growing up there was just blonde barbie and Ken. I never ever gave a thought about looking like barbie or vice versa, it was just fun playing with. Same would go for dinosaurs, I don’t think a kid ever went hey that dinosaur and I look alike lol

  …no, it’s more the parents I’d be concerned with…but you’re probably right — it’s a toy, and it’s a donation…and it’s for a child who has been going without for a while.
