I just applied gold spray paint to my dollar tree craft pumpkins and the paint seems to have dissolved part of the pumpkin. They now gave a very pocked, bumpy surface. So be careful.

  6. Heather C

My 14 y/o would love the spider pumpkin. Wondering if she has the dexterity and patience for it (but you could work on it s bit each day!)

Lina how does that pain work? Do you have to “charge” it with light before you turn the lights down or does it just glow as long as it it dark? Love this idea. Might try it this year. I know my 3 little ones will find it fun.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

I “charged” it for a few seconds so it would be a little bolder for the photo. I did notice the yellow and green glowed the most! 😀 Fun project!

      • Jackie

Great! Getting the yellow and green then. Thanks for the tip 😉 I love your creative ideas. Keep them onlineing please 👍

can you use the glow in the dark paint on an orange pumpkin too? as long as the paint color stands out enough on the orange pumpkin?

  9. Alison

My glow in the dark did not work at does it not work on real pumpkins gotf folk art glow paint

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Try placing near bright light to “charge” it a bit. Also black lights help.

How long does it take to charge in sunlight
