Shell Fuel RewardsFor a limited time, hop on over to Groupon.online where you can snag four Shell Fuel Rewards Cards for only $52 (worth $80). Each card is good for $1 off per gallon of gasoline (20-gallon maximum) in a single fill up. This would be ideal for larger vehicles or when you are on an almost empty tank – since each card is limited to a single fill-up, this offer may not make sense for those of you who drive smaller cars that hold less gasoline.

Each card is valid at 13,500 locations nationwide – head here if you want to check a specific zip code to see if this will work near you or where you will be traveling.

(Thanks, Whitney!)

How do these work? Like normal gas cards?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

These are rewards cards. Each card is good for $1 off per gallon of gasoline (20-gallon maximum) in a single fill up. 🙂

      • wklsunflower

has anyone got their cards? I never got mine

  2. April

Anyone use these before is this like paying for a discount?

  3. Pon

There is a short video showing how you use the card.

    • Nikki

There is s short video on how to use the cards if you follow the Groupon link.

  4. Tiffany

My truck is a 20 gallon tank. If gas is $2 a gallon ($40 filled up), this is like paying $1 gallon ($20). Saving $20 per fillup. Could be worth it for us SUV drivers. I use my Winn Dixie rewards for this.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Sounds like a great deal!

  5. Tiffany

You enter this before you put your credit card in. It will ask for any rewards cards. But one you swipe it, the $1 reward is gone. So don’t mess up lol. Like mentioned, best to use this when you are on E. Get more ban for your buck. Or you can put the gas in a gas can up to 20 gallons.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful feedback! Good to know! 😉

  6. mickey

or you can bring your friends to fill up on the same transaction.

    • Tiffany

The pump will shut off at 20 gallons.

    • wklsunflower

not allowed to do more then one car

  7. Joanna

If you connect to the Groupon app through ibotta, you get 40% cash back on this too. That gives you another $20 or so off the $52 price.

    • Angela

Yes! I just did that on a Groupon Goods transaction, buying a huge thing of k-cups. I got $13 back! So excited!

  8. Stacie

If you’re paying for the rewards card and you’re paying for the gas, you aren’t really saving a dollar. Am I missing something? The saving would only be about 0.35/gallon.

    • Ruchi

My math also says the same..

    • lenin1991

I think that’s a good way to look at it … and that’s BEST case, if your vehicle can take 20 gallons in a single fill-up. If your vehicle takes 13 gallons at each fill-up, you break even.

    • NolaGirl

Yes, you’re right. If your vehicle doesn’t hold more than 20 gallons of fuel, there’s not much point to this. The net saving on a 20 gallon fill up is about $7.

Fuel Rewards Network should offer a card that can be used multiple times until you’ve pumped 80 gallons of fuel. Pay to “save” is a bad move by Fuel Rewards. I’ll stick to the Winn-Dixie option.

  9. Cassandane

Most Shell stations in my area are routinely $.30/gal more expensive than onlinepetitors

  10. Angela

You’re basically paying $13 to save $20 each time…so saving $7 on each 20-gallon fill-up. But as an earlier poster said, if you buy it through Ibotta then you also will get 40% of the cost of the Groupon back on that app, which will help tremendously. Does anyone know whether they make a fuss about having a second car pull up to take the remainder of the 20 gallons once the first car is full? My car only holds about 16.

    • cindy

We’ve done it at Kroger and Pilot. It is self serve. I don’t see how they can stop you. Just my two cents worth, but I’m not sure I am going to do this deal. I’m thinking about it.

    • Barb

I’m new to Ibotta – when I looked, it only showed 5% cash back when you linked to Groupon. What am I doing wrong?

      • Joanna

You may not be doing anything wrong, Barb. Ibotta’s cash back for using apps just rolled out in the past month or so, and I haven’t heard much feedback on it yet. It’s quite possible that the cash back percentages differ for different users. I know my app said 40%, and it appears that may be true for others, but maybe others can provide additional feedback so we know whether there’s a variety of cash back percentages out there for Groupon??

      • Angela

I believe there are a variety of offers for this, just like the grocery offers vary. Someone on a Giant store Facebook group I use said she only had 5%, too. I had a 40% so I used it right away to buy a big 100-count box of K-cups that I’d been eyeing on Groupon Goods. I was hoping it would reset so I could use it for this, but it hasn’t yet.

        • Joanna

I’m glad you mentioned the resetting, and that yours hadn’t yet, Angela! I was wondering about that, too, since the fine print in my app seems to imply that it will reset. Good to know!

did anyone get their cards? Mine never came

    • Pam

Yes, I got mine. They sent me an email about needing my address. You might want to check and see if you got an email from them.

      • wklsunflower

        thanks
