Office Depot newbie here. How do rewards work? Do they expire? Do I get a check back to spend elsewhere?

    • julie

I’d like to know how the rewards work as well. Anyone?

    • Sarah

As far as I know, You pay the full price and you get the rewards the following month to use on your future purchase.

I actually got my rewards for the paper I bought (7/15/2016) in my account Sunday (7/17/2016) and used it to buy my school supplies today. When I did it online it said up 5months but I checked my account and it was there.

  2. Rebecca

    Can I roll these rewards?

  3. Diana

I read somewhere you cannot roll rewards. which is a bummer….

  4. Michelle

I found out recently that rewards do not roll any longer. I also found out after purchasing an item for $7.99 that was supposed to receive 100% back in Rewards that my reward expired at the end of the month because I had not reached 1000 points. I can’t seem to keep up with the changes Office Depot and OfficeMax have made to their program after merging. The recycling Rewards are also ridiculously difficult to redeem as you have to have qualified spending to release your reward dollars and it must be done in a 30-day period instead of 1 year. So if I recycle 5 cartridges ,I have the potential to receive $10 in reward certificates but the recycling and an additional $10 in out-of-pocket spending has to be made in the same month. The spending cannot include purchases made with reward vouchers or gift cards.

I’d rather go to Staples then. In most cases, when Staples offers free battery or paper, it’s in the form of checks, & not in-store rewards. The only time that they offer in-store rewards is the recycle ink though you have to spend at least $30 ink within 6-months, but that’s not hard either. At least you get to recycle ink for 6-months if you’ll have that many empty ink cartridges. And for those recycle ink rewards, you get to spend them on anything, including ink as well, both in-store & online.

Just got back from my Office Depot and was able to get the penny school supplies! Other great deals also. Spent $8 for 2 large bags of supplies

    • Rose

Me too I was so happy they had alot in stock.

      • Sara

Same here! I wasn’t expecting them to so I was very happy

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Happy to hear you scored some great items on the cheap! Thanks for sharing!

  6. Kara

Boo, that stinks they don’t roll anymore!

  7. Jamie

I’m new to Office Depot as well. If I bought the paper last week, where does the amount of the refund show up in my account? I can’t see it anywhere.
