Off topic, new to couponing. I don’t have a printer at home. How do you print/pdf coupons through mobile? Do stores accept it? I am talking about manufacturers coupon. Thanks

    • Erin

No, you need to have a physical printed coupon. Maybe with one of Collin’s deals you can get a inexpensive printer. I’ve seen them in the $20 range. It will pay for itself in no time! You can use the coupons.online app from your phone to print to the printer and from a onlineputer.

You can also buy the newspapers that sell the manufacturers coupons in them if you don’t want to purchase a printer.

In my city, public library onlineputers do not allow you to download the software needed to print coupons. But I can print coupons at my local public library using my laptop. To print coupons at my local library, I connect my laptop to my library’s wifi network and printer. You might be able to do the same at your local public library. Although I have never tried this, you might also be able to connect your smart phone or tablet to the library’s wifi and printer and use the coupons.online app to print at your public library.

You would still need a printer to print a pdf coupon. If you have no printer available, a few places you might check to see if they have a printer available for you to use are libraries, some charge, some charge only for paper. Another idea is to put aside the money you do save from couponing to buy a printer. They do go on sale and are quite reasonable and work for quite a while, or at least mine do. Happy couponing!

I bought an hp from Walmart for $19 about three years ago during Black Friday…still going strong. Like it better than my more expensive ones. So, yes, good deals can be had pretty cheaply.

    • Cassandra

A lot if coupon sites require a download to use, which cannot be done at the library, just a heads up.

  3. Amber

I’ve gone to the local library when my printer was out of ink to print my coupons.

  4. Zak

Personally I print from the library, and because of this I miss a lot of deals !!!saving to get a printer soon!!there is printers for $19.99 at Walgreens but I’m not sure about quality!!

  5. meredith

I literally live behind a dollar tree, and I’m moving in two weeks. Now I’ll have to drive, bummer!

  6. Melissa

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great find Melissa!

Thanks for the heads up, Melissa. Will have to see if I’ve got a Q.

For those that are asking about cheap printing, I would highly reonlinemend a brother laser printer! I got one from a promo mentioned on hip2save a year ago for $80. I know that seems high when there are some you can find for $20 but I have printed tons of coupons and am still on the starter toner it came with. It just lasts forever! I had a color printer from a well known brand before that and was spending a disheartening amount on ink. It had so many different cartridges and each one was expensive and it also used a little of each color even when I printed in black & white – so ridiculous. I was missing deals because I was trying to hard not to print unless I was 100% sure I would get a chance to use the coupon. My current printer has saved us a bundle.

    • Amy

I agree laser is the way to go. It’s saves $$ in the long run. The toner prints 10x as many pages than an ink cartridge. And the quality is better.

    • Erin

Absolutely! You’re not saving anything by going cheap on a printer. And I would not reonlinemend an inkjet. Ink *always* needs replaced and often the coupons don’t even scan. If you want really crisp, non-bleeding images, you have to spring for better paper. My laser printer is ancient, but it never lets me down!

  8. Pon

I think besides the price of the printer, you may want to see how much the ink costs too!

  9. Erin

So I guess those dusters aren’t the trial/travel size?

I was wondering if any of you have been accused of copying coupons at Dollar Tree? I went in on 2/11 because I still had one of the Gevalia coupons that expired that day so I grabbed one of them and a treat from the frozen area so I would spend something(no swiffers at my store). After the cashier put the items in the bag I handed her the coupon. She then took the coffee out of the bag, put it back in the bag, and I thought she said “this coupon is for coffee” to which I said, that is coffee. Then she said more loudly “no, this coupon is a copy” to which I said no, I printed it on my printer. Then she said, “These little dots in the date area are supposed to be yellow since they’re not this is a copy”. I then said, I have a black and white printer so how could they be yellow, that’s how my coupons always look and I’ve never had a problem before. She finally scanned the coupon and finished checking me out but then as I was leaving said “Well, a lot of people try to copy coupons and use them” So, did I just get an uninformed cashier or maybe even a grumpy one or have any of you had similar issues? This is the first time I’ve ever had this happen. Also, let me just say for the record, No, I do not copy coupons, I have two onlineputers and can usually print 4 like coupons between them and 4 of anything is enough for my family so I’m not one of ‘those’ people who would do that.
