Try this tip for a smoother transaction. Spend $30 (after any walgreens store coupons) Then have the cashier scan the points booster coupon. After it’s scanned, then give your manufacture coupons. Even if the cashier is mis-informed and thinks the total must be $30 after coupons, as long as you’ve spent $30 (before) and they scan the coupon you will get the points.
If you have a lot of issues you can always digitally clip the booster to your rewards card.

So the cashier simply refuses to scan the points booster? Ask the cashier to scan it after all of your purchases are rung up. Then your total IS $30. Once it is scanned…pull out your coupons to pay. Unless the cashier manually voids the booster coupon off the transaction you will receive the points. It also states no where in the ad that your total must be $30 after coupons.

Yes! I went yesterday and when it did not scan I had to prove to her I bought all the right stuff and that just because it has a cvs logo does not mean that is the only place I can use it. I was literally at the register for 20 minutes. It was ridiculous

Yeah they wouldn’t take mine. First they said it was because of the cvs logo, then they said I had to buy large bags. I explained it was a manufacturer coupon and had no size restrictions, but they refused. So I gave up.

The coupon is coded only for M&M’s, so it will beep (anywhere) when trying to use on Starburst & Life Savers. I used mine no problem at CVS on the M&M’s eggs, that were on sale 2/$1. I got 8 for free after using 2 coupons!

I did at Target. I bought 3 of the 2 oz bags at $0.69 each and the cashier called a manager over because he said Target doesn’t accept coupons valued higher than the total cost. Even the manager was trying to not let me use the coupon. I explained that any time that happens the cashier either marks down the coupon value (which they aren’t supposed to do since they get reimbursed the full value) or the overage is applied to the rest of the transaction. The manager left and the cashier still didn’t want to scan it so I finally told him the total for the three items was $2.07 and he reluctantly scanned it.

He seemed really new so I tried my best to stay polite but at that point I just wanted to scan the rest of the coupons myself.

Quick (duh) questions…if an item is “buy 2 get 1000pts” do you get 2000pts on 4 and son on? As well if it’s $1RR wyb 2 do you get 2 $1RR for 4? Tia

Yes to the balance points. No to the RRs. You only receive 1 RR per onlinepany in a transaction. So if you want more RRs, you will need to separate your transactions. What I mean by onlinepany is this: say you want to do the Glade RR and get $2, twice. Well you will need to sepaprate your transactions. However, say you want to do the glade deal and Colgate deal and get RRs. Well you can do this in one transaction because they are made from different onlinepanieS. Glade is SC Johnson and Colgate is a different onlinepany. I hope that helps.

Now, unless they have changed it again a person can only get the 1000 points on the 2 in a transaction. When it first started if the offer was “buy 1 get 1000 points” I could buy 5 and get 5000 points. The last time I did this I only got the points for the 1st offer. I was told I would have to do each in a different transaction to get all the points. You may want to ask before you make the purchase.

Jill, it depends on how the ad is worded. If it says 1000 BR wyb 2 items, if you buy 4 you will get 2000 and so on in the same transaction. BUT, if the ad says 1000 BR wyb 2 OR MORE, then you will only receive 1000 BR no matter if you buy 2 or 20. Those “ore more” deals you have to do in separate transactions.

You do not need to separate transactions for balance rewards points. As long as you purchase the advertised quantities you will receive the points.

Now only 24 hour Walgreens stores have early activation. They activate the next weeks sales at around 10 pm. Because most stores close at 10 pm. Early activation does not apply to RR. Only sale prices and points deals.

No. You can do as many transactions as you like. There may be a limit if you get into alot of transactions but I don’t know for sure. I have done the points booster up to 6 times in a given period.

You can use RR’s on things for points, but you cannot use points on something that gives points or you will not receive the new points.

Just a heads up on the Irish Spring coupon. The second one won’t scan. I sent my poor husband out and he didn’t know what to do. The cashier tried to tell him that you could only use one coupon per transaction. It ended up getting fixed, but the manager had to do an override on the second coupon.

For the children’s chewable Claritin, I did not receive the 3,000 pnts for buying two. Looking it up on the Walgreens site, it looks like only the 20 count chewables and the 30 count reditabs qualify. Still a pretty good deal. Thanks Collin.

@Collin (Mrs. Hip): Hi Collin, thanks again for posting. But wanted to let you know that on the Crest deal that is 3/$10, if you buy the fourth item the price for that item is $3.99 (and not $3.33). I was looking over the weekly add and it unfortunately specifically stated that it is $3.99 for each single crest product outside that promo. Still a good deal but wanted to let you know so you can update the math. Thanks!

My Walgreens wouldn’t let me purchase the Irish Springs Gear body washes using two coupons. They said I could only use one at a time and then I wouldn’t get the register rewards. I hope others aren’t having this problem!

I’m sorry, that is strange. As long as the coupon is not exceeding the cost of the item it should be accepted. Also Manufacture coupons do not affect RR from printing. You may want to try again. And if they tell you that the RR will not print if they scan the second coupon. You can just say you would like to test it. Have the cashier scan both coupons, and the RR should print.

It is not the RR problem. The problem is that the second coupon beeps when we want to use two coupons in the same transaction.

ahhh okay, in that case I would reonlinemend using the $2/1 coupon for the first item, and using the $1.50/1 coupon for the second item. Since they are different coupons hopefully it would not beep. Of course this would make it $0.50 after RR instead of Free.

I tried this also and they wouldn’t let me use two coupons for the same product in a transaction. I asked for a manager and she was very rude and said that I couldn’t do it. I then tried to do separate transactions and she wouldn’t let me do that and said one transaction per person.

My Walgreens would not let me use the $2/3 starburst or lifesaver jelly beans coupon. The manager said they have been told not to accept It since it said CVS. He did not seem to care that it was a manuf coupon. I was so bummed!

All my Walgreens will not accept any manufacturer coupons that has a CVS or WalMart advertising logo on it. They claim that they are onlinepetitor coupons even though I have told them that they are manufacturers coupons and should be accepted anywhere. They rudely reject every time…I have almost given up shopping there.

Same here, my Wags won’t take logo’d coupons. I even sent CS an email explaining the difference, circling the remit address on an IP and onlineparing it to a Rite Aid ad coupon and CVS mcm coupon as an example of those being a onlinepetitor coupon. But they still said if any manuf coupon has another store name/logo, it is a onlinepetitor coupon!! coupons.online has a FAQ section, so I even emailed them this –

If my coupon says “redeemable at Walmart” or “available at Walmart” can it be used at other stores?
Our coupons are valid manufacturer coupons and should be accepted at any retailer that accepts printable coupons. Verfication of coupon can be confirmed.
A coupon may say Redeemable at Walmart or Available at Walmart but that is a suggestion to use it at that store. As a valid manufacturer coupon, it can be accepted by other retailers.

And I still got a reply that Walgreens will not accept them!!

I’m confused about the m&ms deal…it says to buy 3, but all the coupons are for when you buy 2. The $1.50 per bag final price seems to be for if you buy 2, not 3 bags. Am I missing something?

Yes, that is correct. Although on the second transaction you only need to spend $30. Also just curious where the starbucks coupons are from? And if you read the previous onlinements lots of readers are having issues with the second Irish Spring coupon beeping. And the $2/3 Starburs coupon beeping. So as long as your store will manually push them thru it should work! 🙂

Most stores do not enforce the limits as long as there is sufficient stock. It’s up to the store manager. The coupon will work to make them 2/$1 even if you purchase more than the limit. hth

Will the machine alert the cashier of the limit, or would they have to see the coupon? (I am using the paperless coupon, so not actually handing over a coupon.)

No there will be no beeps. The limits in the ad are generally there to prevent one person from purchasing all the sale items. Most stores will allow you to purchase more, as long as there is plenty of stock. And…for some reason…the ad’s always state there are NO limits in New Mexico! lol. So if you live in that state you never have to worry. 🙂

And the Irish Spring RR has been confirmed. It is rolling. So you could use the $3 RR from the 1st transaction to lower your OOP on the 2nd transaction. And a new $3 RR will print. hth.

Went to Walgreens tonight to get a few of the deals one being the oragel kids toothpaste and they wouldn’t let me use the $1 coupon they said it had to be for a pain reliever oragel. 🙁

So here is my story from Walgreens today. I bought 3 downy and 1 bounce bursts, 2 Irish Spring body washes and 2 fiber one soft baked bars. My transaction went very smoothly. However, before going I signed up on Balance Rewards for a $5BR points booster on $30 expense. The offer clearly states that it expires on 3/14. I go in, use my coupons, nothing beeps and I do not get my points on the booster or the downy offer. After checkout, I verify my receipt and the extremely polite and kind cashier onlinees in to ask me if everything is ok. I tell her I did not get 10,000 BR points and will call customer service about it. She tells me she can call the manager and they can figure it out. I let her and she calls the manager. The manager says since my downy offer was below $20 total as I used the $2.50/2 coupons and my entire total was under $30, I did not get the reward points. I was almost ready to give up as I did not want to argue but the manager was very nice. He told the cashier to give me $10 back in cash. She gave me the credit on my card and I walked away with 8 products at $1.25 each with tax. I also found the bounce in my store for $5.79 as opposed to $5.99. I also got the $3 RR from Irish Spring. I went back to check if bounce bursts was included in the downy deal and it was included in our store. But please make sure to check it before you buy, I am not really sure if using coupons and bringing the total down from $20 is making an issue on the reward points. I am wondering if some of the items are mistagged? Because the actual tag showing the monthly points deal only says Downy. But gain fireworks, and bounce bursts are also tagged at my store for the spend $20 get 5k points promo.

Did you cashier scan the points booster coupon? When I logged into my balance rewards account I did not see it available to clip to card. Using manufacture coupons does not affect receiving points at all. Sorry you had such a hassle! But glad you were able to get it fixed. 🙂

Hi Beth! Thank you for your nice onlinement. It is possible that the products are mistagged. I did not read the actual wording on the tag which may cause the problem. It would be better to get all bounce products then. No, the cashier did not scan the points booster coupon and I did not ask her either as I understand that expired last night. This is an offer on my card which I clipped to my card by signing up for the offer. The offer was available when I signed in my balance rewards account and it says expired 3/14. Please do not apologize as I am just happy they were so nice to me 🙂

Hi again! I just looked at my account and the offer is still available under my active offers. It says members only offer and valid 3/8-3/14. I wonder why some members get this offer and others don’t. Someone else onlinemented too up here that their offer is valid until 3/14. Also, after my transaction I received a $5/$20 coupon which is valid for a week. I am really not sure why I received it since I never receive such offers from Walgreens. I usually get such coupons from CVS. I have saved it and will use it next week if they have nice sales. I would have used it this week but all Walgreens around me have cleared shelves now as far as Irish Spring is concerned. People really bought them fast and in bulk! 🙂

I got an even sweeter deal for the Irish Spring today at my Walgreens. It was on sale for $2 each instead of $2/$7 and accepted my coupons so I got 2 body washes for $2.22 plus got the $3 RR, did the deal twice and paid $4.44 total for 4 bodywashes and got back $6 in RR! Moneymaker 🙂
