  There was an interesting article about the onlinepany in Outside recently. They use a good bit of pea protein in it. It’s funny because I tried it without reading the ingredients and thought it tasted distinctly pea-like, though my pea-hating husband ate it (albeit highly seasoned in nachos) and never mentioned it.

  It’s made from protein that onlinees from peas! And of course spices to make it taste more like the meat it’s supposed to be, though definitely doctor it up with spices and what not to your liking! Also you should bake or heat in a pan to warm, and eat or add to other dishes rather than microwaving, it will taste much better. 🙂

  Check out a description of what this food product is made of. We eat a mostly vegan, whole foods diet. I tried the chicken once when there was a free coupon offer and the taste and texture were really gross.

  that is a REALLY old link any onlinepany out to slander another with years old ingredients and not even willing to update should be sued for slander. I am actully suprised you posted this here seeing the picture above that says NEW SOY FREE. Nothing else in it is an issue and I like the arrogant authors suggestion to vegans to eat real grass fed beef. lol

   I bought this product (the grilled “Chiken” strip version) for the first time on Sunday. I used it to make gf vegetarian Buffalo “Chiken” Soup. It was absolutely delicious!

  the beef is pretty similar: they both disintegrate when cooked too long in liquid, they taste vaguely “beefy” – i think the taste is a tiny bit spicier in the beyond meat version, but otherwise they’re hard to tell apart. the chicken’s texture i personally find appalling. it’s like chewy clay or something. if you chop it into smaller pieces it’s much more palatable. i like gardein’s texture and taste way better (but keep in mind i haven’t had real meat in a decade, so i have no idea if beyond meat is more “realistic.”) hth! 🙂

  My husband prefers Beyond Meat. He says the taste & texture is better than Gardien. I had to add spices just so he could get through the bag. But he likes the Gardien “chicken ” , it tastes more “real” than Beyond Chicken.
