- To prep the tarts ahead of time, arrange all tarts on baking sheets and store them covered in the fridge. When ready to enjoy, just pop them in the oven and they’ll be freshly baked for your guests!
- You can change up the filling to any preserve or spread you’d like! I bet fig spread or cranberry would taste just as amazing for this idea. Maybe even a bit of cherry pie filling would be yummy and look festive for the holidays. It’s up to you!

Squares of pie crust with cream cheese and blackberry filling make for a yummy treat or brunch item!
Ingredients
- 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
- 2 pre-made refrigerated pie crust dough (or homemade equivalent)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- blackberry jam (or your favorite jam)
- all-purpose flour (for dusting rolling surface)
Directions
1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prep a cookie sheet with parchment paper or non-stick spray.
2
In a mixing bowl, cream together powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract.
3
Unroll the pie crust on a floured surface. With a pizza cutter or knife, cut crust into 3-inch squares. If you have scraps, just roll out more squares using a rolling pin. I was able to make about 11 squares per pie crust.
4
Place a scant teaspoon of cream cheese in each square on the diagonal, followed by a teaspoon of the jam.
5
Fold sides in and pinch it together a little in the middle so they stay closed.
6
Place on the baking sheet and bake for 16-17 minutes until crust is lightly browned.
7
This recipe makes about 22 tarts in total. Serve warm or at room temperature. Store leftovers in a covered container in the fridge (they are also great served cold!)
