    No globes again?

    • Erin

I heard on bfads.net that there will be slow globes this year.

    • dilek

      what is globes????

      • ash

It’s just a tiny little snow globe that they give out to people who onlinee into the store for the black Friday sale. Usually it’s Disney theme…. nothing special that $100/$100+ coupon would be so sweet to score!

    • Kelly

      There will be globes.

  2. Denise

Will JCP have the Disney Snow Globes this year?

  3. Nl

Omg I just realized they are opening 5pm on thanksgiving! That’s a darn shame. It’s incredible to me that thanksgiving is being pushed out.

    • Ashleigh

I agree. I refuse to shop anywhere on Thanksgiving. After the kids get to bed then I break out the laptop and shop away. Until then, Thanksgiving is for family and fellowship. I look forward to the holidays every year. Time spent with family and friends cannot even onlinepare to waiting in line at the mall. There really is absolutely no onlineparison! Happy holidays to you and your family 🙂

      • nl

        you’re right!

      • meg

I agree too! Life is short…kids grow up in the blink of an eye! Sad.

  4. Lindsey

I totally agree. And, it seems so unfair to begin black friday deals on Thursday for those of us who love to shop on Friday but prefer to dedicate Thursday to family.

  5. Amanda

    Are the deals available online?

    • nicolegammeter

The ones in this post are in-store deals. They’ll release their online deals closer to Black Friday. 🙂

  6. nl

That is how I feel too. Black Friday was something I looked forward to every year and I feel like it’s ruined now

    • mrl

      I agree.

    • JulieA

Agreed! I’ll not be shopping on either day …well….maybe online on Friday if there is a deal I just cannot miss 😉 I’m actually finished with my Christmas shopping so there is nothing I just HAVE to have.

  7. Jenn

I agree with the other onlinements on here – it really is a shame that every year the stores open earlier and earlier. While deciding to shop or stay home is a personal choice, I wish that society would focus on the true meaning of the holidays – family, friends and being thankful for what we are blessed with in life rather than onlinemercialism. Not to say that I don’t love a great deal and will most likely go out later in the morning on Black Friday (and shop from home) I will spend Thanksgiving with my family and friends and enjoy the day. 😉

    • meg

      Exactly!!!

    • Jackie

They are going to do it anyway so I embrace the holiday… It is time for my dad and I to bond as we brave the crowds together… We don’t even usually buy that much… It’s just a fun outing

  8. LaToya

The Walmart Black Friday deals are posted.

  9. Lex

I get to spend fun time with my family while shopping! 🙂 We ENJOY doing it, otherwise we’d stay home. It’s all a personal choice what you like to do with your fam (or don’t):) The girls go out shopping for a couple hours while the guys stay home. We have a blast! It’s not just about buying things to us.

    • nl

I see your point, but you are probably the exception more than the rule. It’s sad but many people will be cutting their family time short to sit in line for hours. I just see it going in such a sad direction.

      • anonymous

Or cutting short their family time to go to work. Between THanksgiving day and Black Friday I am working 20 hours. There is no calling off on those days, either.

        • Nl

Right. I used to work in retail and my sister does now and I know she does not want to work. She’s very family oriented. But she has no choice.

    • Kathie

My son works at best buy which will open at 5PM on Thanksgiving so he will be missed at our family gathering. I think it is unfair to open on thanksgiving. Employees have families too and no sale should be more important than family

      • Nl

I agree kathie. So sorry your son has to work. It has really gotten out of control.

  10. Ashley

For those of you interested in the small appliances this same deal is available now. The cost is a couple dollars more or equal to their black Friday ad and includes the mail in rebate.

  11. meg

I guess as long as people keep going shopping earlier and earlier the stores will keep doing it earlier and earlier. Pretty soon black Friday will start on Halloween! But to each their own.

  12. Adrian

Hmm, is it just me, or are the deals this year, just not that great? I feel that the stores are more focused on opening their stores earlier, than really offering any great deals. Most of these deals I can get for the same price any time of year, with their $10 off $25 coupons or $10 off $10 that I get frequently. I LOVE Black Friday shopping and my husband was excited to join me this year, but so far we haven’t seen anything that will make us jump up from our family time to go out and shop!

    • Sue

I got just as good prices as JCPenney’s this past weekend w/ their $10 off $25 coupons plus a $10 off $10 one I received in the store. & they let me use them on their doorbusters, most of which were 60% off. Some of the same prices I see in their BF ad were similar to what I just saw. & I didn’t have to run out on Thanksgiving or wait in a huge line.

      • andrea

I bought my daughters some of the colored Arizona jeans they had for 14.99 plus my 10 off 25. They’ll be 12.99 on Black Fri but with my coupon I got a better deal.

  13. why

Why do people care if stores are open earlier on Thanksgiving? Its been like that the past few years. And the stores are packed when they do open. Not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving, eats turkey, have family around, etc.

    • Nl

I would imagine there are people w/no one to have thanksgiving with. That’s not what we’re speaking if here. We are talking out the general diminishing of something. A very large percentage of Americans celebrate thanksgiving. Those of us who do, and would like to enjoy Black Friday, can no longer do so. I would like to have thanksgiving with my family and go out on Friday. I will still do that but many people who normally would do that, will now cut their family holiday short to shop and mostly stand in line. Because all the stores are onlinepeting with each other, they are opening earlier and earlier on a Holiday.
Need I also mention all the workers who have to now work on Thanksgiving. No matter how you look at it, it’s sending the wrong message about priorities. Once again, it’s about money. It just makes me very sad.

    • andrea

I get your point, and as long as there is demand for early openings, the stores will do it. I work retail at a store that will be opening early on Thanksgiving, and I am of two minds on the subject. I am grateful to have a job, and onlineing in to work at 6pm on Thanksgiving (AND getting holiday pay) does sound better than having to go in at Midnight for an overnight shift (like we were doing a few years ago), on the other hand if I work Thanksgiving it is time I will not be spending with my children. My son’s birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year too. I’m kind of bummed about it.

  14. jean

I’m confused ,is it the first 100 people that enter the store that get the $10 off $10 coupons on both Thursday and Friday or is it just till 1:00 pm or what?

    • andrea

It’s probably while supplies last. If you want one, you should probably get there early.

  15. Rads

Does anyone know if there are deals on Corning ware n Pyrex round containers which kohls had every year , but I don’t see them now

    • Jamie

Costco has a set of four Pyrex nesting glass bowls with lids for $9.99 right now. Don’t know if that helps you, but good luck!

  16. Judy

I think that it is unfortunate that some employees will miss an opportunity to be with their families Thanksgiving day, but my husband is a shift worker and is frequently required to work Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, etc. It isn’t the date that makes the holiday special to us, it is spending the time together when we can and appreciating that he has good work to provide for his family.
Also, I think Black Friday shopping on Friday has beonlinee LESS stressful / hectic now that the deals are spread out over a longer time.
Either way, hope everyone enjoys their turkey and / or shopping 🙂

  17. ashley

it sucks that the stores thought this was a good idea it should be called black thursday instead

    • anonymous

I read a website online that said the best deals are to be had the Sunday BEFORE Thanksgiving. Anyone find that to be true? I work retail but I was never into the Black Friday shopping so I don’t know.

  18. Bobbisue

Do you only get the Mail-In Rebate offer if your purchase is made in-store? Or will the price be the same if purchased online?

  19. stefanie

    Question:
The rebate forms say “limit one rebate per household” on the small appliance rebate forms. Does this mean one rebate per household per item? I got two rebates for two different items. Do you think I’ll be able to get them both?
