I used this to find the barcode to add to my Keyring App. Great suggestion, though.

  2. Shawna

I added mine to my Passbook on my iPhone

    • Jenny

It never works for me from Passbook. 🙁

  3. Jessica

Awesome idea! I am always afraid my phone will die while shopping before I get to the checkout! lol

  4. Dana

I thought your bar code changed each time you added offers, apparently that’s not the case?

    • Jenny

      Yea, I thought so to!

    • Catherine Infantino Polachek

I was wondering the same thing – I thought the bar code changed all the time too

    • shopper

It never changes, it’s stated in the faq’s 🙂

    • Jenny

When it first came out it did change.

    • chris

I just had the same thing happen this week…the cashier says it changes when you add more

  5. Eva

Is this only good for the deals I have on the barcode for that week or will it keep renewing itself?

    • Valerie H

Your barcode belongs to you. It never changes. A Target employee told me to just print it out and keep it with me because our Target has awful phone reception and I often can’t pull it up at the register. She said even if you add to it in the store the printed barcode will always work.

      • Yoko

My Target stores have free wifi inside the stores (2 stores). Doesn’t your store have a free wifi?

        • Deb

Mine does but I may have to log in as many as 8-10 times before it connects. I printed my barcode for those days it doesn’t work.

  6. Karen

Great idea. I thought of laminating it and putting it in my wallet but have no done it yet. I don’t have any on my keychain.

  7. jhnicole

So cool thanks collin.I hate pulling out my big piece of paper lol.thanks hipsters for the info on barcode not changing you guys rock!

  8. Strass637

Can you load Target coupons to the cartwheel? New to Target shopping.

    • R

nope, target coupons and target cartwheel are a different thing,
the target coupons you have to hand to them, so sadly… nope.

  9. Leaveit2ashley

Strass637, no these are two separate kinds of Target coupons.

  10. Kerryiu

Hey, is that a Fry’s VIP card i see?!? I have one too! Does that mean Lina’s from AZ? Holla! Lol

  11. julie

Brilliant! I totally get stressed shopping at target! Between paper, digital coupons and cartwheel, I feel like I always forget something! Not to mention when i back up the line trying to find them on my phone! 😉

  12. Jess

Holy Moly. Knowing the barcode never changes is a onlineplete game changer!! =)

  13. ToriSC

Perfect idea. I just glued it to an old card & covered it with the packing tape. Thanks.

  14. brigi77

    I love this idea!

  15. Debbie

have mine in a wallet photo holder in with my target red card

too many functions for my iphone to handle in a short time, so printing it has been way better
(using cartwheel, target mobile coupons, printed/paper coupons, shopkick, and shopping with 3 kids will make your head spin!!)

  16. christina

when I click on my barcode it says my cartwheel is empty, do I need to add something to it and if I do wont it just work for that please help

    • Angi

You need to add deals to it. It is probably empty because you did not add offers, or all the offers you added have since expired.

      • christina

I added items and then printed the barcode and then added different items printed again and it was a different # under the barcode looks like its different to me….I want to be sure I have the correct one before I make a key thingy with it, please help me

  17. melinda moses

I wonder if we could do this for the mobile coupons to print them out each time because I have problems with them too? Just give the bar card for them to scan?

  18. Lisa

I took a screen shot of my phone when I had the barcode pulled up. Then I was able to have the cashier scan the screen shot. I didn’t need to worry about bad reception.

  19. joanne

I enjoy scanning each item in my cart to see if there is a cart wheel.. Also I have used an app called keytag…. now I never carry any tags…. just my smart phone!!!

    • christina

whenever I add things to cartwheel and print it off it has numbers under the barcode, when I add different items and print out the barcode again the numbers are different, doesn’t this mean its different? PLEASE help me here

  20. susan

someone took their smart pill today! Thanks a bunch!!! I have a phone that doesn’t like that app.

  21. Willow

A Target cashier gave me the idea of printing and taping the barcode to the back of my Target RedCard. It works great!

  22. amy

    Genius!!!

  23. drew

I just created a card with a scannable bar code and the numbers printed underneath. That way if the barcode won’t scan, then the account numbers can be typed in by the cashier. I keep this card with my target card; therefore I have both at the same time.

  24. Wini

I have been doing this ever since I joined Cartwheel since the cashier handed back my barcode and told me to use the barcode every time I have a Cartwheel offer.

  25. christina

they told me the barcode was different for each offer, they said that would not work

    • Rebecca

It works. I actually have mine printed on an address label and put it on my red card. Have had it like this for over a year and it works perfectly. The barcode stays the same.

      • christina

I wonder why they told me that

  26. ali

    Great suggestion. thanks

  27. Debbie

My barcode printed out so big that it won’t fit in with my other key cards, and also if I wanted to tape it to the back of my RedCard (great idea too, BTW!!) Is there a way of printing it smaller, or then the barcode may not scan correctly?? Thanks for some great ideas tho!!

    • Jessica

Ever figure it out. My is HUGE , too!
