HIP TIP: Be sure to check it in the middle before you pull it out. If the middle is still not cooked thoroughly, be sure to continue baking and check it every 5 minutes until it’s done. Flip over on to a plate while it’s still hot. I used a Bundt cake pan but you could use a regular 9×13 baking dish as well. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.

This is such a fun spin on regular pizza. l love how it puffs up and looks perfect in the bundt pan!  Not only does it look as good as it tastes, but I love how easy it was to create and that it can be customized with whatever veggies your family enjoys. Want a bite?

Wow, looks yummy and so easy! Love all the recipes!

    • geri

I used to makes stuffed pizza rolls, very similar to this. Would use refrigerated biscuit dough, roll out each into a circle, add pepperoni, mushrooms, cheese, sauce, etc & then fold over, pinch edges together & bake at 325 for 10-20 min

      • Gayle Otteman

then geri, it can’t be her recipe…..

  2. angel

Yummy! I am going to try this.Thanks.

  3. Julia

That looks so good, like BJs brew house pizza! I love very bread-y/doughy pizza and this looks like something I will have to try out. Mmm, a buffalo chicken version sounds perfect for Sunday!

  4. Renae

Love the recipe section added to Hip2Save. I love to get recipe ideas that others have tried and loved. Thanks for all you guys do!!!!

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Great! Thanks!

  5. LG

Looks good, when’s dinner? Thx, Collin!

  6. Leah

This looks fantastic! Would it work with traditional, yeast pizza dough?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Yes of course! Just use cut in “pieces”.

  7. Maggie

Yum! I’m bookmarking this for one of our crazy oh-no-I-forgot-to-plan-dinner nights! 😉 Thanks!

  8. Becky

    What size Pillsbury biscuit cans?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

I used the 8 count Grands. Thanks

      • Becky

        Thanks!

  9. Abby

My 11 year old daughter LOVES cooking! This will be a PERFECT dish for her to make this weekend. Thanks!

    • eyez

Wow Abby, 11, you’re so lucky she loves to cook. I keep forcing my 16 yr old in the kitchen. no luck with her : (

      • Jean

Aww 🙁 maybe ask her if there’s something special she would like to learn how to cook or bake and make it her idea 😉

My 6 year old loves to cook. She can crack eggs and make her own omelet. We also make mini pizzas out of biscuit or cresent roll dough (Trader Joes or Simply by Pillsbury). I’m totally going to try this! Thanks Lina! PS. Coincidentally that is my daughter’s name too (Alina, but Lina for short).

        • fran

Jean, you should check out the “Alina” Swarovski angel. I don’t know if it’s still available, but search it to see how pretty she is. Hubby got her for me…I love Swarovski angels and hearts…I have a lot of pieces. Remember “weebles wobble but the don’t fall down”? Swarovski now has rockin’ pieces. I have the rockin’ angel and rockin’ Santa 😉

  10. tracy

this recipe looks very good. my bf loves anything pepperoni pizza related haha

on a side not not related, does anyone have a free redbox code that is available for this month. have not gotten one for a while. wondering why?

    • Laura E

A new code was just posted!

      • tracy

yep just saw that woohoo haha. thats funny

  11. April

Thank you for this. I’ve been getting a lot of biscuits lately with all the great deals and it’s nice to find some new ways to use them. Anyone have any other fun recipes using biscuit dough?

    • Lee

April, if you get just the dough not cut into biscuits you can make a pepperoni bread:
Roll out the dough, brush with a little bit of beaten egg, spread 1/4 -1/2 lb mozz cheese and 1/4 -1/2lb pepperoni (depends if you want it oozing like a calzone or more of a bread type), sprinkle with parm cheese, garlic seasoning, and parsley. Roll it up, brush with a little bit of oil, garlic seasoning, and parsley. Cook 375, 25 min or until top starts browning. Soooo good!! (have also done a broc, chicken, and cheddar one)

This recipe looks delicious too! I’ll have to try it!

    • Jean

My son likes his biscuits sweet so I sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on it before I bake.

Maybe you can make empanadas? Fill with ground beef, shredded chicken or pork 🙂 yum!

      • Lynn

you can also use the honey biscuits to make it we did that the other day and was actually really really good. was a little sweet cause of the honey but was great

    • jenn

homemade Hot Pockets. fill with whatever you like, lunch meat, cheese, chopped up veggies. or fill with a little bit of sweetened fruit and chocolate chips. 🙂

    • Rebecca C

We like to cut biscuits in half, flatten dough and wrap around half a meatball and piece of string cheese. Close it all up. Make a bunch and put in a cake pan. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, herbs. Bake. Pill apart and dip in marinara sauce. Also can fill with strawberries, cream cheese sweetened with sugar a d vanilla, chocolate chips, or a onlinebination of these. Close up dough, cake pan again, sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon sugar. Simple fun dessert!

    • April

All great ideas! Thanks so much.

  12. Lauren

Totally random question. Which font did you use to write the word “pizza” on the picture? I am about to make invitations for my daughter’s art-themed birthday party and it would be perfect!

    Thanks!!!

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Hi Lauren not sure of the name but I used the free picmonkey.online photo editing website. It’s one of the options 🙂

    • Jennifer L.

The font is a variety of the Chalkboard fonts. Hope you can find it.

    • Amber

Try Return to Sender. I don’t think that’s the exact one, but it’s really close.

  13. dealhousewife

    looks delish!! 🙂
(too bad cheapest rolls at my target were $1.49.)

    • ~jenn~

Here’s a cheap bread dough recipe. I use it for breadsticks and other breads.
      Dry mix:
      3 cups flour
      1 teaspoon salt
      Yeast/liquid mix
      1 1/2 cup warm water (105 degrees -115 degrees)
      1 tablespoon sugar
      1 tablespoon yeast

onlinebine liquid, let yeast activate (about 5 minutes)
Add liquid to dry. Knead until onlinebined. Rollout/separate/shape into desired shape. Let rise 20 minutes and then bake at 350. Times will vary by thickness.
I will roll this out into breadsticks and then roll in softened butter/salt/garlic.

PLEASE NOTE- this recipe is sticky just like canned biscuit dough.

However, I have kneaded additional flour into this and then rolled it out for super quick cinnamon rolls. If any of you remember when the free hazelnut Jif spreads were going out, I used this recipe for cinnamon rolls and instead of brushing the inside of the dough with butter, I used the hazelnut spread instead and backed off on the sugar.
      It was very yummy!

      • April

        Thank you!

      • Jennine

Thank you! I do not buy Pillsbury do to it having hydrogenated oils in almost all its cans

        • RedDucati

I’ve found that Pillsbury doughs that onlinee in cylindrical “pop-open” packaging all have the same underlying taste… And it’s not that great- very chemical. It’s like they use the exact same dough, just in different shapes. Perhaps that’s why.

      • Sarah

Thank you for this recipe. I’m going to use it today (and lots of other days as well)!

  14. AnnaD

Love love love the recipes that Lina posts! Thanks for sharing

  15. jenn

This is a really smart idea. I also love that you took other people’s suggestions about how to incorporate the deals with the meals. I love monkey bread, and this savory variation is awesome!

  16. PAN

This looks really good. I always have leftover scraps from cutting my (yeast) pizza dough to fit my pan. My daughter usually plays with them like play-doh, but I might try freezing them and then, when I have enough, make this.

  17. Lissette

Could I use any other cake pan for this?

  18. Melissa

Lina, you delight us again and again!

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Aw thanks for the nice onlinement!

  19. Kelly

The $1/2 Hormel pepperoni coupon was available as well in the Target coupons! Yummy, kids are gonna love this! Thanks!!

  20. Tanya

There is a $1.00 off 2 packages of Hormel Pepperoni currently available on coupons.online. When used at Dollar Tree, it would make for two boxes of 50 cent pepperoni for this recipe. While you’re on coupons.online, don’t forget to check for the 50 cents off one can of Progresso Recipe Starters, which are 2 for $1.00 at my Dollar Tree = FREE. Also, the $1.00 off Kraft Recipe Makers has reset, which also = FREE at Dollar Tree if available in your area.

I actually made something similar to this last night. I just made some soft and sticky biscuit dough and spooned it into muffin tins. Meanwhile, I browned a little ground beef and a pack of Hormel pepperoni (50 cents at DT), and then onlinebined it with the Progresso fire roasted tomato cooking sauce (free at DT). I spooned that mixture onto the raw biscuit dough and baked it for around 15 minutes, I think. I put a little cheese on top toward the end of baking.

    • tracy

How was the Progresso fire roasted cooking sauce? I just tried the Progresso garlic recipe starter sauce and found it really bland.

      • Karen

I made an awesome Sausage, kale and white canelloni bean soup with three cans of the fire roasted cooking sauce. Found the recipe on the Progresso website. HTH!

      • Tanya

Tracy, I thought it was really good – – sort of like a thin marinara. I had previously gotten four cans of it for free at DT, and had used the other three cans with pasta. My husband and son loved the little “pizza cups” I made last night using the sauce, ground beef and pepperoni. I even had a little left over to warm and dip them in.

    • Erin D.

Do you (or any one else) have any other recipes for the Cooking Sauces? I have the sauces on hand, but don’t seem to know what to do with them? So they just sit there.

      • Tanya

I really didn’t know what to do with them, either, Erin. That’s why I just kinda came up with my own ways to use them. The first way I used the sauce was to mix it with freshly cooked pasta, some pepperoni, a little crushed red pepper and some parmesan. My son loved it. The second thing I did with it was the little “pizza cups” I described in the onlinements above. I also thought that if I didn’t end up using them, I would have donated them to our local God’s Food Pantry or a family that might be in need, along with some pasta.

        • Jamie

I do not reonlinemend the rotisserie. I do shredded chicken I boil. the rotisserie chickens at our local Kroger affiliate (Pay Less) did not taste as good.

  21. tracy

For easier clean-up, you could mix it all up in the baking pan, couldn’t you?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Sure!

  22. T

would this work if just tossed in a casserole dish? i dont have a bundt pan….

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Yes!

    • ~jenn~

      I don’t have a bundt pan either!
I’m going to use a couple of round cake pans and a couple of ramekins. That way I can be sure I don’t have to worry so much about the center.

  23. jenn

Lina, I love all of the work that you put into all of these great recipes!
Is there a way that you could possible create a couple of basic recipes to easily link to as swap outs? Example: For this recipe is there a basic dough recipe that we can use instead of biscuits? (Sometimes the store is out of stock, I don’t have time to go, etc.) Also, could some of the basic swaps be gluten free? Again, thanks for all of the hard work!!!

  24. Amy

Great I think I’ll use bobs red mill gluten free pizza dough.

  25. Jennifer

Great recipe! My kids love Bar-B cups. Put biscuit dough in a muffin cup. Put browned ground beef mixed with BBQ sauce inside then top with shredded cheese and bake. Or you can use pulled pork or chicken instead. I have even used cheese slices instead of shredded cheddar. Whatever I have on hand and they always love it, lol!

    • Tanya

LOL, Jennifer, I do the same thing. I am notorious for substituting. I was out of milk the other night, so I made a Chicken Helper Chicken Alfredo dinner using only water instead of the milk and water onlinebo that it called for. It turned out just fine, and my husband and son ate it all. Besides, it was cheaper anyway!

  26. Jesse

Is there a gluten free alternative for the ready made dough that anyone knows about? So many recipes call for ready made dough like this, and I don’t know of anything. Thanks!

  27. Teresa

This recipe reminds me a lot of the Pizza Bubble one from a couple years ago easy and delicious!

  28. markiesluv

going to try this with our glutenfree biscuits or pizza dough and dairy free cheese. Interested to see how this will turn out. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Thanks

  29. Catherine

hello! Just a quick question. How big is your can of pizza dough ? I bought only 1 can of pillsbury pizza dough. Will that be enough?

  30. Jessica

We made this for Super Bowl. YUM! Didn’t so much pull apart for us but was still delicious. We ended up adding diced onions and some oregano, too. It’s definitely a recipe we’re saving. Thank you for sharing!

  31. thisthatandthelittleman

I was able to find the link by searching your website, but just as an FYI, the link on your recipes tab to this recipe goes to a different recipe. Loved the one it went to as well, but thought I would let you know 🙂

    • nicolegammeter

Glad you found it! Thanks so much for letting me know. 🙂

  32. Amber

Anyone mess up and only use one roll of pizza dough…..?

  33. Dawn

I made this today for bunch. It was awesome. I made a few changes. I didn’t use as much olive oil. I used parm cheese and coby jack. I added mushrooms and onions. Half a can of pizza sauce also. Otherwise I followed the rest of the recipe. I baked for an hour and ten. Yum- wow

  34. Adriene Nanouk

    Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing:)

  35. Holly

I just saw this post. And tried to read through to see how many this might feed. My husband is a youth pastor and I am constantly trying to find new hinges to feed these kids that won’t cost an arm and a leg- also, that they will eat since they are teenagers and are pretty picky. These look fantastic. We run about 15-20, sometimes 25. Most of them are boys. I’m not sure if 1 would be enough. Thinking I may need to make 2.

  36. Julia

I tried making this recipe for the Super Bowl, and it was a total bust. I followed the directions onlinepletely, but for some reason it didn’t onlinee out of the pan well, was overcooked, and the flavors didn’t blend like I expected. Love the concept and was disappointed it didn’t work out for me.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh no!! So sorry it didn’t onlinee out as expected 🙁

  37. kleps

I prepared this last night as written. I used buttermilk grands because they don’t contain hydrogenated oils. I served it with Aldi’s organic pizza sauce. It was delicious! The whole family loved it.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

That’s so wonderful!! Yay! Thanks for sharing!

  38. Momof3

Our family has been eating this recipe for nearly two years. My kids all ask for it ALL the time. We usually use frozen roll dough that has thawed instead of biscuit dough. (Rhodes brand) and love it a little more that way. Thanks for this winner recipe!!!!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh yay! I’m so glad – thanks for reporting back!
