Turkey Thumbprint Place Cards (Thanksgiving Craft)
Looking for a simple and festive craft you can make with the kids this Thanksgiving? These glittery thumbprint turkeys are so cute and fun to make! They will look great on your turkey day table and are an easy keepsake to put out each year.
For this craft, you’ll need:
- craft paint in Fall colors
- small paint brush
- glue or tape
- cardstock or heavy paper
- clothespins
- gold glitter
- Decoupage (Such as Mod Podge)
- Sharpie
Directions:
Dip your child’s index finger in paint and have them stamp a turkey “feather” design (shown above) going in an arch shape on your heavy weight paper. When dry, cut out the shapes.
Dip your child’s thumb in brown paint and make the turkey head using two thumbprints. When dry pain a beak and eyes and cut out that shape.
Glue or tape the head portion to the body as shown.
Mix together a little decopauge and glitter and paint your clothespins. You may have to do a couple coats to get it even. When dry, write names on the turkeys with a marker and display on table.
I’m thinking of getting the paper portion laminated to keep for years to onlinee. Don’t they look so cute on the table!?
I love adding little handmade details like this for the holidays, don’t you? My kids are really proud of them and enjoying helping. Do you have something similar on your table?
