Calling all you homeschoolers! Now through September 30th, AlphaCard.online is offering up FREE professionally printed Photo ID cards + FREE shipping for all homeschooled students (no strings attached – limit 5 per household!). This seems like a nice freebie since most homeschooled students don’t usually have access to student ID cards. How cool is that!?

*AlphaCard is printing & shipping professional Homeschool Student ID Cards at no cost through September 30, 2013. There is a limit of 5 ID cards per household.  We reserve the right to end the program earlier than scheduled based on capacity. Any submissions deemed fraudulent or inappropriate will not be fulfilled. We will not be responsible for any errors, misprints, or cards lost in the mail. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery. This program is restricted to the U.S. only.

(Thanks, Melissa!)

This is a really neat freebie. A good way for homeschoolers to have a way to take advantage of all the things that require student ID!

    Thanks for posting this!! 🙂

  3. Tracy

Thank you for posting this! We just started homeschooling our son and this will be very helpful.

I have everything filled out and I add the picture but can’t preview the picture. It says it uploaded successfully but I can’t see it. I don’t want to submit it if there is no picture. Has anyone else had this happen?

    • Kam

Click next and it will show up

      • Kam

They allow you to preview everything before you finally submit.

        • Heather

Well, I’ve gone all the way to the final submit button but instead of showing the picture that I uploaded, it just shows a tiny little box. I have made sure the pic is jpg and under 3MB but I’m not sure why it won’t show.

          • Kam

That’s odd. When I did it my child’s picture showed up. Maybe try a couple of other pictures and test them out before submitting.

But who is actually going to take these honestly … it hasn’t been issued by a school. I think most people would say it’s not valid for anything besides saying your homeschooled. Even my ID issued by my school is pretty useless.

    • Kam

Exactly! My state issues homeschool id as well and they are useless. It’s just no one takes the idea of homeschooling seriously in the first place unfortunately.

    • Sarah H.

Yes, but if you have a pre-printed looking professional id and someone (for example, someone with connections to the school board or Child Protective Services) is questioning the fact that your child is not in school during school hours, this could divert a major confrontation.

      • tilla ham

if you have done your homeschooling properly, and reported it correctly there should never be an issue about why your child isn’t in public school

        • Sarah H.

Not true — it really depends on where you live. Some states/school districts are wonderful (in VA, we only had to submit a religious exemption once for all of our kids). Here in Central PA, they are quite anti-home school and will do anything possible to make your life difficult, even if it means breaking the law themselves.

        • teaching3boys

We are not required to report it to anyone in Oklahoma. Which is the way it should be! So yes, these could onlinee in handy for us here.

        • Charnel

Tilla that’s kind of rude. Assuming people aren’t homeschooling properly. In my state I don’t have to report ANYTHING. My state has record my kids homeschool. But even if my local school had papers saying I homeschool that is not going to be information a librarian or cop has if they see a minor roaming during school hours.

For homeschoolers just a card stating they homeschool is handy. If you want to leave a 14 year old at the library to research he is likely to be questioned and having a card stating he is homeschooled can save his family lots of grieve. And they are quite beneficial to homeschool moms as they can get teacher discounts. I have a card and noone has ever rejected it and it has our family school name on it.

    • Sis

this is so true, We use our homemade ones all the time!!

  7. Sarah H.

Thank you so much for posting this. This should solve a problem which onlinees up fairly infrequently, but when it does, it causes a massive headache. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  8. Holly S

thank you for posting this. This is our 3rd year of homeschooling.

  9. Stacey Ruch

I don’t see any to make for teachers? Anyone else find any?

    • Vicki

I finally reached someone at customer service at alpha cards who said they don’t have teacher ID’s available at this time. Due to the number of requests for these they may add them in the future =)

      • Melissa

You can get teacher and student IDs at homeschoolbuyerscoop.online!

btw, I’m not so sure I want an ID with my child’s bday on it. That’s one of the pieces of information people use for identity theft. I wish I could leave that part off here.

        • homeschool

You can also get educator cards at homeschoolid.online

  10. Amani S

Thanks. I was just about to order cards.

  11. Melissa

These would also be handy when you take your kids to museums, etc for field trips. We often get discounts because we homeschool, so this would make it look more “official” looking!

FYI: this promotion has reached capacity. We were too late in getting our school photos taken. 🙁
