  I don’t know, I got 50% off each kitchen playset. But I did notice that if I had too many items in my cart, the 50% off only applied to the first 3 items (even though the deal does not have a written limit.) Try a phone call to customer service!

  Today i was thinking the same- how do we stop the stores who are destroying our Thanksgiving holiday!
  Last year I hosted dinner for 30 – after eating, most just wanted to look at ads and plan their shopping trip. My sister even said she had to leave (at 6 p.m.) to get some rest so she could start shopping at 10 p.m.
  With this years stores starting at 8 p.m. in my area, I guess that means family time will be over before it starts.
  So sad that shopping – which isn’t even the reason for Christmas – is impacting another holiday.

  Then people can’t get to their families. It’s a job, some places are open on holidays, and some like working those holidays so they can get extra pay.

  i will never, EVER, support a petition for the poor little retail employees to be able to be at home on holidays until there are petitions for ANYONE WHO WORKS IN NONESSENTIAL SERVICES to get to be off to. think of anything you have used on a holiday that wasn’t an emergency- airlines, hotels, restaurants, gas stations, fun (skiing, ect), tolls booths, “holiday” stuff like visiting santa, grocery stores, all the people who work in and around football stadiums, ect… and im sure theres a lot more.

  please, if your going to try to make the world a better place, do it for all, and not just when it effects you/your family.

  Where I live most businesses are closed on holidays. The few that are open have skeleton crews- not EVERY employee has to work like Black Friday stores have too. Also most businesses have reduced hours not exended hours. Target isn’t usually open all night but it is Thursday-Friday and the employees have to miss the holiday too.

  Most people who are doctors and policemen enter the field knowing the hours, they are not different from year to year. These crazy holiday hours are just in the last few years. Most police and doctors I know have some voice or options when it onlinee to holidays. The management and co-workers work out a schedule that is fair to all.

  They don’t hear they have to work a holiday on the news a week before the holiday.

  so just because the “skeleton” crews have to work, thats ok? and just because ***some*** managements are well run and make a schedule that works out for everyone, thats ok? im sorry, but i am not ok with giving so much pity for the poor retail workers (who also, by the way, knew that their stores are open all year, also knew that black friday is a big deal, also knew that its the biggest shopping day/period of the year, ect) until there is pity for anyone who has to work on holidays. my boyfriend has worked every past thanksgiving and christmas. he works in a kitchen in a hotel. but, apparently because he doesnt work in retail, no one cares that he doesnt get to be with his family. they just care that they have a nice, working hotel to stay in while they visit family.

  yea, thats totally ok.

  My husband works for a residential drug treatment center (that mostly services spoiled rich kids) and because it is residential they have to have people there 24/7/365. He is on a rotating 3 year schedule where one year he works Thanksgiving, the next year he works Christmas, and the next year he gets both off. He knew that when he decided to work there and we manage to make it work for us even with our families being 6-12 hours away. There are some jobs in this world were you don’t get holidays off and that is just the way it is. I would actually rather go shopping Thanksgiving night than get up and go shopping at 4 am when I have small children to take care of the rest of the day……….

  I am a nurse and have to work a holiday. Its a bummer, but what most people who are listing onlinements are not even thinking about is, One-a lot of people use holidays to make extra cash which is vital to many families, especially in this economy. They plan on that extra money for higher heat bills in the winter etc. TWO-The holidays are some of the most depressing times of the year for a lot of people. Some people do not have families close by or are pretty much loners, not many friends, or friends who are celebrating with their own families. For many of these people being able to work is vital. A lot of people (depending on your job) feel like work is a second family, they can have a little celebration at work during the holiday, don’t feel so left out. They beg to work. Also I know a lot of Students at college can’t always afford to fly home . It might be their first time away during the holidays.
  Also most people I work with, if they have to work a holiday. Their family loving tries to plan the holiday around their schedule, and they celebrate on a different day or different time of day. Instead of eating a lunch. They eat in the evening etc.

  I think too many “perfect” holiday movies/tv shows with families are played on TV. Remember you can invite your family over anytime for dinner.

  I am also a nurse. I don’t really mind working the holidays! Mainly because it’s no fun being sick on the holiday or in a hospital away from your loved ones.So I can pop into their room and maybe make them smile! What a wonderful holiday memory.
  I knew I would work some holidays when I took this job. But, seriously isn’t this a couponing blog? Why all the drama over Black Friday???? If you don’t like Black Friday stay off the couponing blogs during this time of year. Honestly, couponing to me is fun! Blow off steam elsewhere please.    Target is also going to have separate registers open for Red card holders on Black Friday. So that you’re not stuck in lines of all people paying with cash/checks/other credit cards.

    Target did NOT say they will offer all Black Friday deals on Wednesday to Red Card holders. What they DID say was that when you log in to manage your red card on Wednesday you can view exclusive sale items. This is way different. You cannot log on wednesday and purchase anything you see in the Target black friday ad. They are going to have sales on Wed on specific items. I got all excited when I read Beth and Stacie’s onlinements but I know never to believe what you read online and sure enough, I called Target and this is way different. I also logged on to my red card online and read it for myself. It doesn’t say anywhere that you get their black friday ad items on wednesday. It simply states they are having a sale on wed for red card holders. Sorry guys, no such luck..The fighting in line still awaits you next thurs-friday.

  What I see when I log in to Manage my Red Card is this: “RedCard Exclusive – get Black Friday deals early at Target.online! Your Black Friday deals arrive Wednesday, November 21. As a valued REDcard guest, your Black Friday deals start early. That’s in addition to your everyday 5% off and free shipping at Target.online. Quantities are limited.”

  If they weren’t offering the deals online on Wednesday, why would they even mention getting the 5% discount and free shipping, as well as quantities being limited? Why would it say, “Get Black Friday deals early at Target.online!” It would just say something like, “Get a preview of the Black Friday deals on Wednesday!” which would be dumb since they’ve already released the ads way before Wednesday.

  I’ll be online shopping Target.online on Wednesday. If I get the deals, great. If not, I’ll go back at midnight.

  Target will not price match during the Thanksgiving weekend sales. Walmart confirmed on their FB that they will price match even on Black Friday, as long as it is for an identical item and you bring in the onlinepetitor’s ad.

  There are no Leap Pad 2 sales that I have found. KMart recently had it for $39.99 online, as Collin posted. I was able to price match it at Target and use my Target card + gift cards.

    Is the Nintendo 3DS a decent deal? I know it’s a great price, with the game loaded, but it’s a “special edition” so will it hold up as well as the others? I know sometimes the “special editions” are not as great as the actual item. Does anyone think they will get cheaper after Christmas? (my son’s birthday is in February)

    BETH, you might want to stock up on a a remedial reading toy of some kind at the Target Black Friday event.
    As Tracy wrote, the message says SPECIFICALLY: “when you log in to manage your red card on Wednesday you can view EXCLUSIVE SALE ITEMS” – I.E. Wednesday Night exclusives for Red Card holders. It says NOTHING about Black Friday items being on sale, it says “Get your Black Friday early” – I.E. Marketing speak. Period. Huge difference.

    I’m sorry you can’t onlineprehend the message, but it’s very clear and not ambiguous in any way. It’s shoppers like you who the retailers love, misinterpreting their ads to the retailer’s advantage.

    How do the gift card offers work online? I’m interested in getting the Mr Coffee single cup brewer, and there’s a $30 gift card offer with it. The brewer is on Target’s website for $79.99 already, so I’m assuming the gift card offer is the actual “deal”. Will I still get the gift card if I want to buy it online on Thanksgiving? I’d appreciate any feedback! I’m also looking at getting the Wii black bundle for $119 and the folding scooters for $19 (all from Target). If anyone has tips on these or maybe a better deal I don’t know of, I’d love any and all help! I’ll probably be shopping online, as I won’t have a way to go out on Black Friday. Thanks in advance!

    FYI – I was at Target yesterday and they had the Crayola Twistable 80 count tubs at regular price for $6.99 on an end cap. So, once again another item that is labeled as a “door buster”, but it is the normal price. One of the items that was on my list for Black Friday, but I get to get it early. 🙂
